Hi,

The timer works but after starting within a few min the motor speed goes to low speed and stays there

well I cant be absolute sure because you didn't include the make and model of the timer/control , but I can say on most automatic controllers for pool and spa pumps , if you set them to come on automatically at a preset time of day most will run in there slow to mid speed , this is because the filter doesn't need to have highest flow to work , and then this reserves the highest speed for when it's needed like when pool/spa is in use by people and the control should allow an operator to manually override it to full speed as well , hence the automatic cycle time of day should not be set to operate at peak use times but instead late at night or off use hours (saves energy too)

The "F" LED remains on and I'm unable to get it to change states by depressing the settings button. This has happened on two of the units that are both less than 6 months old. Any ideas?

Copy following link to identify timer, and find comparable product that might last longer.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Woods-timers-and-manuals.html#2001

Check output voltage at outlet using multimeter. Should be minimum 80% rated value or 110Volt outlet = 88 volts
Check outlet with circuit analyzer for correct polarity and grounding.
All timers come with 1 year limited warranty, in this case it will be through seller because first alert does not show timers on their website.
Don't buy First Alert products.
They are generally cheaply made promotional grade timers.
I recommend Intermatic HB61RC or Woods 49103 or Intermatic HB65R because their products are good, and warranty policy is direct from company.

Need instruction manual for pool/spa Intermatic timer model RC 2343PT

Intermatic does not post that product manual, or the door label for that specific product. Nor is the door label clear when viewing images of timer.

Copy following links for possible assistance wiring timer, and then setting timer:

Where can i get a timer for my schumacher battery charger

If the charger is an older version, you may not be able to get any parts for it. In that case, then the only way to continue using the charger would be open it up and bypass the timer right to the solenoid which forces the charger to 'ON' as soon as you plug it in, and then go out and buy a 110volt timer and plug it into that.
