Question about Asrock Computers & Internet

1 Answer

My computer crashed and when I try to diagnostic the problem with the TechAID diagnostic Card of Soyo, it tells me that FF is not functioning. After that I bougt a new processor for socket 775 and I turned the computer on. The motherboard is an AsRock. Now I got the message: dO, b3 and FF. After a while the conmputer shut down. I did not get any message on the monitor, but these messages appear only on the monitor of the diagnostic card. Why can the computer not be started? What does the message means? Is the motherboard broken?

Sounds like a faulty motherboard. try testing the motherboard after removing everything apart from the cpu and ram then add one piece at a time to eliminate one thing at a time.

SOURCE: I get a ff on my computer motherboard. I can't get

The FF on the board just means that the motherboard completed an attempt to boot. That's it. Very vague i know...but in every instance of the ff code the board had to be replaced. Error code 2D may indicate a video problem...ultimately we could never know what to expect with generic codes like that...As an engineer I I would go a step further and try disconnecting the hard drive to see if you get the computer to get to the BIOS which would indicate a failed drive or corrupt OS Otherwise you are probably correct in thinking you might have a video problem which is onboard and would still require a board replacement. But save yourself the trouble and get another computer which doesn't have motherboards in it from shut down companies. I'd be glad to explore your options with you.

SOURCE: I have an Acer Aspire M5100 with a Acer F690GVM

AM3 Processors are, as you state, backwards compatible with AM2 Sockets. However, this is based on a BIOS update and may not be the case in all motherboards. I would recommend checking with ACER directly, as to weather they have relased an update for this bios to support this function. I have done a search but turned up nothing, but they may not have released it yet. My initial thought was that this seems to be a problem with these OEM boards.

Browsers crash

Domain Name System = DNS
I'de look into Firewall program and or Routers settings then I'de try running FF without plugins enabling one by one as well as look for an update for it i.e. at least try and update FF if re-installation is too much of an effort (Make sure you export (Save) Bookmarks if you have many as I do. A re-start of the System wouldn't do any harm, i.e. between un-installation and re-installation of FF.
Try and see what is said at
OR they should be able to have a solution.

Power Supply Card crashed. Where i can I buy this card?

Does the PC light light up or does the PC make any kind of sounds at all? If not, it's probably the power supply. Power supplies are not cards though. You can get them about anywhere that carries PC hardware. Be sure you get a power supply that is suitable to the needs of your system.

These new graphics cards pull a lot of power from the power supply. I know you didn't start off having this issue but given the symptoms you are experiencing I'd take a closer look at the power supply and perhaps replace it with a 650 watt or better.

Adobe Flash player makes my Firefox browser crash

I too use Firefox and so far I have not had any problems with it. After you install FF, you should close it before installing Adobe Flash. After you have finished installing Flash Player, your FF should be working. BTW be sure to get the latest version of FF.
