Question about Lands Phones
Suddenly it does not seem to record or save the greeting. I press greeting button and speak brief greeting into mic. Press greeting button again to save. Nothing happens. Press greeting button again, now it stops recording. It does not play back the greeting. Does not seem to have recorded it. I cleaned head/capstan and replaced tape. Same problem. The "record memo" function DOES work. Just not the "record greeting" function. Any ideas? Thank you for this very helpful service.

SOURCE: greeting was somehow erased
Hi Sherrie, I am sorry to hear about your husband, I will do what I can to help. I am fairly confident on that model that if you push the greeting button, then delete it will erase the message for good. Also, if the memory power failed, then it would reset to the default greeting and erase all messages and greetings. However, if the unit has options for multiple greetings (ie. default greeting, greeting 1, greeting 2, etc., then perhaps the default greeting may have been selected, while your husbands greeting is still there but is recorded under say greeting number 1. If that is the case, you can select it to play his greeting instead of the default greeting to have it play. I would find out for you but my computer is having trouble opening the manual on the Panasonic site, so here is the link. Look under "greetings" in the index. Hope I helped. Thanks, CG http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/KXTM150B.PDF

You cannot push it in without a recordable tape in the unit. The mini cassette tapes have a removable erase prevention tab on each side in the front. If removed, you cannot push record. Try another tape. Otherwise the recorder needs repair.
