No sound from rear/surround speakers

I can get no sound out of the rear speakers - have tried changing setups,
speakers and wires.  Still no sound.   Is there something that could be missing.

same problem here, however there is a test mode that displays static so I don't know how much more surround mode I can get than a system test. static on L channel, R channel, C channel and then on "5 ch" - nothing.

i had the same problem. i had my xbox hooked up to the dvd section. i now use the cd section. i had to play with the some of the surround/processing modes to get the rear to be audible. the rear is still soft in my opinion. i understand it's rear "fill", but i expected it to be a little more audible

No surround sound on rear speakers and cant access speaker set up functions. left front channel not working when rears set up without surround

from the problem description, it sounds like a wiring/setup problem with the speakers. check to make sure you are only using the main 'a' front r & l speaker connectors. if you select speaker set a + b on the front, you will not have the rear channels. please see the speaker connection guidelines in the manual on page 13-15. make sure the audessey mike and/or headphones are not plugged in when trying to use the speaker set up function.

2007 cierra ,my radio cones on but not putting power to speakers except to 1 front speaker and it has almost no sound ,up full and very screechy . do I need a new radio ?

Sounds like a wire is shorting out, probably in behind the stereo, but more likely in the back where the speakers connect. Check for something shorting out or a wire grounding out near the speaker.
You can trace back from there.
Other than that probably is the stereo.

Onkyo HT S3300 center, left front and rear speaker not working.

check your speaker wiring, make sure both terminals are connected properly. or could just be left speaker is disconnected. and is set in stereo mode which will only play left and right front and Sub, if you have one. try chaning the surround mode to play in multi channel speaker which will send sound to all speakers. i trust your using a Digital audio cable from your source ( cable box, DVD player) if your using analog audio cable you will only get stereo sound, and nothing will ever come out of the rear speaker unless you change the surround mode to multi- channel speaker. also in the setup menu you should be able to perform a speaker setup, make sure all your speakers are able to produce sound. follow speaker setup mode in menu, make sure you have checked the boxes or Yes to speaker you have in your system. then perform calibration and a test tone will come out of each speaker as you select them.

Trouble with rear speakers

This may be a software issue. If you only had two speakers before, the software will not use the rear speakers.
Go to Control Panel. Click on "Sound and Audio Devices". Under the Volume Tab, at the bottom, you will see a picture roughly representing the type of speakers.
Click on the Advanced button.
Click on the arrow in the pick box, and choose Surround Speakrs or the 5.1 Speakers.
Click Okay. Try the speakers again.
