The elicenser software installed by the product software may not not support your operating system, so the first thing to try is to update the elicenser software. Its available here:

I have a Plustek OpticFilm 7600i SE film scanner. Every time I try and load-up the setup disc, the set up install starts and then comes up with this error message: An error (-500 : 0x8004ace8) has...

It is quite possible that there is another piece of software that is clashing with your Plustek OpticFilm scanner. It is hard to tell which software is having a clash. If you remove that software from your system you will obtain the desired results. I suspect the SP3 of Windows XP may be responsible for this because Microsoft has indicated that Windows XP SP3 is not for everyone. If you install Windows XP SP2 uninstalling XP SP3 your problem can definitely be rectified.
Good Luck!

You cannot see HD because there are no apropriate SATA drivers included in windows XP CD. So you need to create custom windows XP installation CD

To install windows XP in that laptop u will need to create custom windows XP CD, how will you do that:

  1. Download nlite from http://www.nliteos.com/
  2. Download drivers for that laptop
  3. Download service pack 3 for windows XP
  4. Install nlite for windows XP and run
  5. Follow instructions and include SP3 for XP, all the drivers for laptop and create ISO Image
  6. Burn ISO Image
  7. Install Windows XP
  8. Good Luck

Lost my serial number for cubase sx3, can you get me it?

From what I have read, if you contact your regional Steinberg distributer they can issue you a new code if yours is lost. Or you could contact Steinberg directly here and request a new cd and licence (providing you can prove that it is a genuine product that you purchased).

Did you use and lose your blue key? If you did you can retrieve the licence number from your computer.

  • Please attach the USB-eLicenser to the computer and open the eLicenser Control Center. In the eLCC, all connected eLicensers are listed, showing a 12 digit number (USB-eLicenser) or 20 digit number (Soft-eLicenser). This number is also needed to register the eLicensers in MySteinberg. So please make sure to have all keys registered in MySteinberg right after you bought them to have a comprehensive list of all your eLicensers.

  • Even if you had no chance to register the key or to note down the key number before it became defective or was stolen, the key number(s) are still available on the system if you have the latest eLicenser Control Center installed. The file containing the numbers can be found in these locations:

    [Win XP]
    C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataeLicenserLogsPOS_Used_eLicenser_Serialnumbers.log

    [Win Vista]
    C:ProgramDataeLicenserLogsPOS_Used_eLicenser_Serialnumbers.log

    [Mac OS X]
    /Library/Logs/eLicenser/POS_Used_eLicenser_Serialnumbers.log
I hope that may be of help to you.
