Blocked overflow on fuel tank

There are a couple things here. In the first place if you can pump fuel with the pump off the engine and pumped by hand doesn't mean that it will pump on the engine. See the stroke on the engine is very short, it only moves like 1/4 inch. So you could have a bad pump even though you are pumping by hand. The gas cap, will have no effect on this model. Yes the pick-up tube has a filter on the bottom of it, and it could be stopped up. You can remove this unit up through the top of the tank, got to wiggle it and turn it sideways, and if you can find a used one( New ones scarce and expensive) by going to used parts place, and look for 1967 - 1972, they are all alike. Lots a luck in fixing this great ole truck.

turn your heater on to max heat and high fan. then see if you can feel the hoses on the firewall for heat they should be hot. make sure that the fan unit on the radiatoris working if the upper radiator hose is hot the fans should be running if they are not that means that either the relay is bad the thermo sensor is bad or the fan unit is shot... please rate the solution..........thanks

Pull real hard. Or you can use a small thin plastic prybar, with a rag between it and the tank and slowly work the assy out. Its in there real good.

Hello there..
How do you know the hose is blocked at all? It's rare for that to happen, I work on these machines daily as I am a Factory Authorized tech. You need to be careful in your approach to this, that is an expensive machine and it can be damaged by improper service procedures.
For starters, there is a flap valve on the end of the drain hose that would prevent you from introducing any sort of pressure backwards into the machine via the drain hose. For example, if you took and tried to blow air thru the drain hose outlet end, you would force that flap closed and create pressure in the hose. Also putting caustic drain cleaning substances is very, very bad for your machine and can cause some serious damage.

I will be happy to try to assist you, but let's start at the begining, shall we? What prompted you to conclude that the drain hose is 90% blocked? The first thing you should do is take out the rack, wash arm and tha large stainless steel filter plate. Next, pull the rotor up and out of the pump base (none of these procedures require tools) and make sure the grey impeller is not "freewheeling" or has become detached from the rotor shaft. The blue wash impeller on the top and the grey drain impeller on the bottom must be "one to one" meaning they are firmly connected to the shaft of the motor and turn together.
Next, check the tube or passageway in the drawer between the sump (where that small removeable filter screen is) and the pump's sump area (where you pulled up the rotor)
If you have any blockage, it will be in that tube.

this sounds like the ballvalve needs replacing & the hissing is the sound of water as the valve is not shutting off properly.
The valve at the bottom of the tank is possibly just a half turn valve so try that & see if it stops the water.
The water leaking could be thatthe water level is too high & leaking around the handle assembly & running down, so it kinda looks as though its leaking below?
The handle assembly may of come adrift so thats whay the handle may look loose ?

Solution sounds quite straight forward, a new ballvalve assembly needs to be fitted & the handle assembly sorting.
The leak will be rectified when you replace the old ballvalve, as you will need to turn off the water to the unit to remove the ballvalve, whilst the water is off a service valve should be fitted so as any future probs or servicing needs doing then it can be isolated without the need for turning the whole house off?

This work should be carried out by a registered plumber & is as i said a straight forward job.Price approx £65.00 subject to a survey by the plumber.
