Slow screen and no sound

Could you please specify some things like how big is your hdd & how much memory do you have. These 2 things are very important when installing a new operating system like xp & up.
Sounds like you may need another one of the sound drivers. Do you have the Realtek97 Audio driver?
And is your standby option greyed out when you click start & turn off computer? This will be a video driver issue I'm pretty sure. When you drag a window quickly across the screen do you see it like streaks or what exactly do you mean by "slow screen"?

I have the same set and the same issues. I asked LG here in Brisbane the same question, there is a modified connector and cable assembly from the circuit board to the hard drive that fixes this issues on "early" manufactured set. However it is expensive and purchase and for them to "fit" Shame LG do not offer to fix a "production" or "design" issues with a better priced mod kit and fix this once and for all. Let me know how you go in your contrary?

You need to press the button on the top right of the control ( the TV button) once and that will allow you to control the tv once again. Problem occurs when you accidently push VCR or DVD button which means remote control will try a different frequency to operate a VCR or DVD that isn't there. Hope this helps.
