SOURCE: I have a JVC ax-r87bk

Posibly nothing. Look at the controls and indicators for a clue.

Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Check for loose speaker connections at the speaker as another possible root cause forintermittent shutdown.

JVC AX-518V RECEIVER VOLUME CONTROL QVDC94Z-E15FJ5 INTERMITTENT LOSS OF RIGHT SIDE SPEAKERS, THEN TOTAL LOSS. LOOKING FOR A NEW CONTROL.

Hi,

Please remove all sources of interference from the jvc device (ie radio, microphone, antenna etc). Then listen to the sound again. If the issue persists, please use another power source and check the device cables for any damage.

Thank you.

How can I use an IPOD with this system. Technics AX 530

You need a cable (from Best Buy or Radio Shack) that is "Mini" jack (Ipod end) and dual RCA on receiver end.

My Gateway NV78 looses the wirweless signal if the computer is more than 10 feet from the router. Three other computers can pick up the signal anywhere in the house. Any ideas?

Well the internal antennas in net books are not that universally functional, depending on strength of signal etc ,your brand of pc is not that hot either,I have known a netbook to function differently even frome different points in the same room.
one thing you can do is take your pc apart and solder in a reverse polarity sma connector ,then use a piece of the smallest co-ax you can find(rg 174) or try a military -spec rg 174 co-ax.The only problem then is soldering it to the internal co-ax linking your wi-fi card to the internal intenna, you might even find just cutting this very thin co-ax gives you a better pattern but if you do solder it in you can then link an external omni-directional antenna to your pc and this migh give you a connection just to the strongest signal and not sniff out irrelevant connections you cant connect to anyway---good luck!

Hello i was wanting to know if i could hook up my AX-596 amplifier to my Yamaha HTR-5860 reciver

I assume you want to slave it to the receiver and drive some more speakers with it.

Connect some RCA cables from whichever channel pre-outs you want on the HTR-5860 to any input on the AX-596.

Set the AX volume to something sufficiently high, run through the HTR's speaker level setup and match the AX volume to match the channels on the receiver. Then leave the AX's volume alone.
---

If you just want the AX to have access to program sources of the HTR, run the RCA cables to it from one of the VCR1 or 2 Out (but DO NOT select whichever one you use via the front panel). These are not affected by the HTR's volume controls.

Hitachi ax-m136u aerial outside

Hi What you probably need is a line transformer.
If you have 300 ohm "twin lead " from outside and the receiver has coax , you need a 300 to 75 ohm transformer.
If you have a coax coming in to 2 screw terminals on the receiver , you need a 75 ohm to 300 ohm transformer.
Some place like Radio Shack or a stereo store would have them.
