Question about Mitsubishi LT-52144 52 in. LCD HDTV
The screen is jumbled - vertical color bands - on powering up. On reset, it will restore the picture - sometimes perfectly, sometimes with a few vertical lines close to the sides, sometimes with the same vertical jumble.

That is bad sign of the bad LCD panel itself, but you can try replacing the LCD driver board first. The new LCD panel will be very EXPENSIVE! It will get worst as time goes by.

I would guess a sustain or similar board---one for each side of the set and typical shop repair will exceed 200 parts and labor
