Do you have power out of the transformer no= transformer! yes start checking the resistors if you check all the same colour ones at the same time you will find there resistance next try the capacitors any that have rounded tops or shrunken jackets are always a good starting point

all those toys, when broken can be expensive...to fix. labor.... and parts
but my guess is :"?
next time check all fuses, in cab and engine bay .box.
if fuses look bad they are,! blown up.
if they look good, they can in fact, be bad. hmmmmmmmm....
use any ohm meter (any,DMM/DVM) and select ohms low
0 ohms is good.
infinity is bad fuse. every time,

ohms is the value of resistance, all full meters have this check
0 can be 0 to 1ohm if meter has auto zero , 0 will be 0 (RTM )
if not, most read about 0.3 ohms or the meter lead contract restance which we ignore on cheap meters)

Instrument lights quit working, warning lights work, bulbs and fuses check good with ohm meter

check your fuses to see if any of them aren't working at all, next I would try replacing the bulbs and checking the wires

Tail lights dont work everything else does

if you have a volt meter, turn on the lights and either take out a bulb or
unplug the harness going to one of your rear lights. the using the meter (switched to VDC) see if you power going to the lights if not, you have a wiring harness or a fuse issue. If you have power coming back to the light, switch you meter to Ohms and check to see if you have continuity on the bulb itself. you can also check your fuse with the meter on the Ohm setting.

The tv switched off and the lcd light started flashing green

ISSUES:

1. IF sound main fuse/s are good.
2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signsof damage you can see---burnt parts etc.
3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down theproblem.
4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set.

Answers to issues:

1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the genericones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don'tput a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason.

2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses astandby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined andsome not.

Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on thepower/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--Iattach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flatand have no brown material coming out on top or bottom.

What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating(saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail.

3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have tobuy and try a board to see if it fixes it or not.

4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over.4_12_2012_1_20_07_am.jpg
look at the power board inside the set to see if puffed up caps like these that are bad.
A model number (not indicated here) would be helpful.

First is the Akai name is owned by Samsung--and here is a general answer:

Red light is shutdown or means only standby light is on.

I see so many here with no sound/nopicture issues:

2004 kia spectra the third break light works but the others don't

I assume you hav checked the fuse boxes for blown fuses.
Also have switched the bad bulbs to the good light fixture to check if they are ok.
If so, If you have a volt/ohm meter you can check for power at the bad bulb locations Be sure to also check the grounds using the ohmmeter...that is a more likely problem.

Hope this helps you...good luck

NO POWER

There are no more fuses that will make this work.Turn off power and disconnection the primary side of the power transformer (the big one) check with a ohm meter,it should read all most a short,if it reads nothing you have a defective power transformer. The transformer will be bad if you get no standby light at all, that is if all fuses are good.

Convergence chips replaced, now power goes to standby immediately

Whenever you suspect you may have a solder bridge where you did not intend one, use a digital meter set on connectivity to check out whether you are getting a short. If so, most likely you need to redo it.

Doublecheck by using the same meter set on ohms reading. If it is super low, like 1-2 ohms, it's shorted. Your conductivity beeper may still sound off if it's less than 100 ohms, which may be a valid reading between 2 points on any cb.
