Whirlpool oven model rbd306pdb15 has f5 error code and lights are on. Will not heat. Changed door latch, no help.

if you changed the latch the only other things are a broken wire or a bad computer board, this machine has two boards the clock assy. part WPW10438751 and another board part WP8301848.if you go to repair clinic you can order both boards install them first wp8301848 and see if it works because this is the cheaper of the two boards but you can send back the board you don't need up to 365 days, unfortunately when the machine has more than one board it's hard to say what one is bad,i have removed the ribbons on some units and when you plug the ribbon back in it works, possible dirt in the connection or something like that, sometimes when you remove the board you can see a burn mark on it or it smells cooked, wish i could give you a better answer but f5 is a bad latch, broken wire or computer board, can you let me know what you find thanks so other people might be helped by what you find, and i'm sure you know to kill the power to the unit before you work on it always do this.

After cleaning the control panel ribbon, the oven will not shut down (top and bottom ovens. Is this the thermal oven shutdown fuse that needs to be replaced? If so, how do I remove the fuse from a W

Stove will not turn off CHECK

Temperature Control Thermostat

If the oven won't turn off the oven thermostat is often the cause of the problem. The electrical contacts inside the oven thermostat can weld themselves together and then the oven won't turn off. If this happens, turn off power to the entire appliance at the household circuit breaker or fuse. The oven thermostat usually cannot be tested and must be replaced if defective.

Oven Control Board

The oven control board has a set of relays that turn on and off power to the bake and broil circuits according to the customer settings and sensor input. If the oven won't turn off it could be that one of the relays on the oven control board is shorted closed, providing voltage to the heating circuit. It can be dangerous if the oven won't turn off. Don't leave the oven unattended without turning off power to the oven.

Relay board:
Some ovens are equipped with a relay board. This circuit board has several relays which control the switching of electrical current to the oven heat source. If the oven won't turn off it may be that one or more of the relays on the relay board have failed. If this happens replace the relay board. The relays on the board are not sold separately. ALSO CHECK THE BAKE AND BROIL ELEMENT.

Bake at low temp. Heating element vs control board

you need a meter that checks voltage (220) and continuity. turn off breaker remove screws that hold element in carefully pull it out just enuff to remove wires.remove wires check for continuity on element if there element is good. tape the leads to the wires turn on breaker, turn on oven if no 220 volts bad board or broken wire.

My oven locked and I cannot open it nore turn off the lock. The temperature went down and it's been locked throughout the whole day does anyone know whow to fix the problem?

Unplug the power from the OVEN for 24 hours and let the remaining voltage in the circuit board REBOOT the computer.

It should work fine then, or you will need to replace the computer board. It is an easy fix. Replace the Auto Lock Switch too, just to be safe if it was the item that toasted the computer board.

Good luck,

My oven shuts off after only been on a few minutes. I turn on my Tappan oven (example at 350 degrees) then it shuts off.

If your display temp shuts off and reverts to only clock like some one hit cancle, your computer or main clock is no good. Some are no longer avalable.
you need to change the clock (main board)

Display doesn't work, but oven works

First turn the electricity off by locating the breaker to the oven and turn it off. Now wait for an hour or so and turn the breaker back on, if the display turned back on, you need a control board (other manufatures call it a clock, PCB or ECC but it's the main elctronic board with the diaplay built in). If it didn't come back on, turn the power off again and make sure all the wire harness's going to the board are connected good. Turn the power back on and it the display still doesn;t come back on you need to replace the main electronic control board. By the way double check the model number and brand because it might be wrong. Please post back.
