Why do wings tend to bend upward on a plane?

The entire weight of the aircraft is being supported by the wings. Longer wings are designed to bend upwards to support that weight. Due to the curvature of the wings (more curved on top and flatter on bottom) there is low pressure on the top of the wings and higher pressure under the wings. So the wings are actually pulled up into the air by the low pressure over the top of them.

How do I change my headlight?

On 97 and up Oldsmobile Silhouette, Pontiac Montana, Pontiac Transport, and Chevy Venture Van,

  • When you open the hood and look at the headlight assembly. At the top between the turn signal and headlight there is a black plastic wing nut. Unscrew that wing nut to remove the side marker light. After removing that nut persuade the side marker light to slide forward. That's the only thing that locks it in place. Untwist the socket to replace the turn signal bulb. Since that is out now...There are two more wing nuts just like the first one that hold the headlight assembly in place on top of the radiator support. (The black plastic piece the headlight is mounted to) Remove these two wing nuts and lift up on the whole assembly. Those are the only things that actually lock it into place. Once you slide it up off the studs the wing nuts were on. Unplug the plug from the back of the light (use a flat screwdriver to lift the tab a little). Twist the round plastic ring that holds the bulb in. The bulb should pull out now. Don't touch the new bulb with your fingers as it is a halogen bulb and the oil on your fingers will cause a hot spot on it, causing it to fail SOON. If you happen to touch the glass part of the headlight bulb, clean it with rubbing alcohol. Reverse the steps...go eat dinner.
If this pertained to your vehicle and helped in any way please take the time to rate, as I took the time to write it. Thank you.

I have the 86 wing and I also have an 85 1200 wing there the same almost but the 86 has 40k more miles on her and it runs circles around my 85 they both run like a top no skips and same on gas just 86 has...

In a general sense, two bikes off the assembly line one after another can do the same thing. There were no substantial differences between the engines, other than more refined emission management.
40K can contribute a little, depending how hard those miles were or if it suffered overheating or some mechanical problem which took a little umph out of it. If you're real curious, do a compression test on the two and see if there's a difference. Are both bikes current on service? Plugs, timing, etc?

Under the seat on the left side attached to the frame. Real close to rear tire. Just a cute little thing.

AGATOR HAS BROKEN FINS

Take the cone out of the top of the agitator and you will see a large plastic wing nut down inside the agitator tube. Undo wing nut and agitator should lift of the splined shaft.. It may be a little tight.. Gently wriggle top to loosen. Make sure you get the same size to replace it, as there are different sizes....Good luck....Nomess

I don't know if you mean the headlight bulb, or the headlight.

The electric wings will not drop when letting the top down.

I have the same problem with my car. I just bought a 2004 VW Beetle and have never owned a convetible before. So when I saw the wings I asked if this was normal. The mechanic at the dealer said that on the 04 those wings do not retract when the top is down, only when the top is closed. Now my car will beep when I start driving because the top is not down all the way, also the indicator light shows a blinking car in the temp display letting me know the top in not down all the way. I read a solution from someone else and it said to keep keep the button to open the top pressed or pulled.......whichever is the way to open it...until the motor stops, but that did not work. So I decided to do a little research online and saw pictures of 2004 convertible VW beetles with the top down....low and behold the wings were retracted when the top was down. So the mechanic at the dealer lied. If these people do not know what their cars do and don't do, they should not be working there. They are compltley neglagant and incompitent. If anyone has an ansewr for me, it would be appreciated.

Cutting cost on wing production, resulting in a nasty crash!

i normaly only repair large aircraft, but it seems your old good wing was fatigued from regular use and broke, and the new ones are of poor asian quality, thats why they are snaping. i assume the wings are folding up, so on the bottom attach a very thin wire (stainless lockwire if you can get) to the ends of the wing to fuse, at least 30 deg. from wing (like bottom of wing to bottom of fuse)
