1987 john deere 750 compact 4 wheel drive wont start. Battery is good((12.7 volts across terminals and at positive starter connection), jumpered pto safety switch, no front pto. I'm guessing starter solenoid or neutral safety switch problem. Not sure how to troubleshhoot those. Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks,
John

You might think this is stupid, but I accidentally engaged the pto lever with my heel as I was climbing on and it would not start I messed with the battery, starter and everything in between, check the lever
Percussive maintenance my friend. Try banging on the solenoid and starter with a hammer while in the start position. Also, if you have a voltmeter, you can see where voltage is getting to and that will help you as well.
