An external K/board and usb mouse work fine. Its nothing to do with turning the touchpad off, I've tried that! Can anyone help?

Make sure you haven't disabled the touchpad - try Fn+F7

On a Toshiba Laptop C70-A Series , lost my arrow and some keys dont work. How can I get my mouse back, so I can do a backup ?

Depending on your laptop settings start by doing a FULL shutdown. After rebooting hopefully the mouse (assume you mean a touchpad) will be restored; and maybe the keys not working. If unsuccessful connect a USB mouse and USB keyboard and check settings of the touchpad and also select the default language keyboard. If still unsuccessful try reinstalling touchpad drivers. Consider a possibility of some problem or damage to the keypad and/or touchpad if this all happened recently and the above doesn't correct.

Touchpad not in device manager

Hi There,
The touchpad will normally show up under input devices in device manager. If you don't see it listed, check to see if your touchpad has a manual on/off switch located on the laptop keyboard (sometimes under specialized function keys)
If a switch doesn't seem to be the issue, try reinstalling the drivers for the touchpad, which should be available on the toshiba website.

Touchpad stopped working when a friend openned the laptop to fix the DC power pin. reinstalled driver, power cycled, disabled and enabled touchpad, still only works with mouse. keyboard works fine

Most probably, your friend disconnected the cable connecting the touchpad to the motherboard while disassembling the laptop to fix the DC power pin, & forgot to reconnect it back.
You will need to partially disassemble the laptop again & reconnect the touchpad to the motherboard.

Dead keyboard and touchpad at login prompt

Try downloading ubuntu linux live cd. You can boot directly into linux without installing it. See if your keyboard and touchpad work in there. If not then it is a hardware problem. If it does work you may want to consider backing up your files and reinstalling windows.

My Touch pad does not work, can someone help? the touchpad suddenlly stops working while i was using it

try to remove battery. Turn on you computer without battery. battery can cause keyboard and mouse not working.
also make sure your touchpad is enable by using fn+F7
if this is still doesn't work, it's mean your touchpad itself is bad.
