Possible damage to radio output ic if no audio. Output failure is usually due to shorted speaker lines either together or to ground. You can check your speaker lines at head unit and they should have approx 6v dc on +&- lines each channel. If this is not present then most likely is
output failure, if ok then is internal fault possibly with vol control ic or
If after disconnection of the speakers the set shows protect then is for sure that your audio output power IC is short.
You will have to remove the IC and put in a new one.
If the disconnection of the speaker changed the protect, then the speakersa ree short, wires are short into the ground of the car.
are you using RCA outputs(the round red and white plugs)? if you are then your amp is not turning on and if you are hooking up speakers to your RCA's (low level) then you will not hear any audio the signal is to low. would need to know more about how you checked the ic power?? one could verify an output ic by hooking up an amp since the RCA audio signal is picked off just before the output. if the low level works but the speakers do not then you have a bad output. anything else an o-scope would be handy.

$250 is a bit tough if you are sure the IC is only $27. It is not clear from your post if your microprocessor works alright. If your display and other functions were okay when you gave it to the service guys, your micro is okay, in that case the only other costly thing in your board is output ic. Getting a board from Pioneer isn't easy, they don't sell boards in shops, they provide it to their authorized service ceneters only. You can try finding a friend who is aware of the boards and have this checked.
Original number is PAL007 or PAL006
As replacement you can use TDA7384 the only problem if you use the this ic,the pwr REMOTE WIRE will not work because this pwr line came from the pin number 25 of the pwr output ic.
If you using external amplifiers you have to modify the remote line or use an external switch for the amplifiers.
