SOURCE: I HAVE A GENERATOR THE MOTOR SURGES ONLY WHEN LOAD ARM IS CONECTE

replace the pink plastic jet and two O-rings (center of carb) and clean out the shaft they are in with Q-tip and solvent, blow out with compressed air prior to assembly, make sure a old O-ring is not down in the hole as this is a very common mistake made by many who make repairs, one O-ring will remain in the shaft after you pull the jet out. 4 out of 6 gens that surge have this problem especially if you hear a small amount of backfiring . the bottom jet must be very clean as well if it is the newer model without the thumb screw.

SOURCE: engine overspeed light blinking

Hi there,
You probably have a broken magnetic pickup.
You'll have to reset the generator controller, usually this is just a matter of turning the switch of the off position. On most of the generators I've worked on a blinking overspeed light as opposed to a solid one means that the control board can't detect any speed input. Speed input can be either a wire that comes from the generator output, or a magnetic pickup mounted so that it can count flywheel teeth. You don't say which generator this is so I can't guess any better than that.
Regards,
Carl

SOURCE: 10kw Generac shut down overspeed

Make sure that the throttle linkage is all there and not damaged/misadjusted, then get a manometer and check your inlet gas pressure. Gas pressure should be 8 inches of water column and stay there running or not.

SOURCE: gnerator not producing ac power

I recently had a similar problem during "Sandy". I forgot to turn off the hot tub before starting the generator and the house lightswhere barely lit, dim, and flickering under the load. I quickly shut itoff andthe hot tub, but not before frying half of my generator. It will only produce 110now, not the 220 usual adn I need to get it fixed. I imaging you may be experienceing the same thing if you can't reset it. My generator has two reset buttons right next to the outlets on the unit itself.

Generac 15000 portable generator: during use the motor revs extremely high and then shut off occasionally.

The reason its shutting down, is probably because its going in to overspeed and the safties are shutting it down to protect the engine. is it doing it under a load or no load.

I have a generac 22kw model QT02224anan that will run for a few minutes then shut down , then the over speed led is lit. It only happens when it is under load or during a power outage. it goes through...

its possible the overspeed is set to sensitive. or your rpm are to high. these are preset in the factory as a safety, check your manual to ensure your rpm speed is in the pre set area. generators will do this under load when you have a big load on them or take a load off. the governor will some times over compensate causing it to trip on overspeed.

How do i get power from my generator, gnerators on but i cant use outlets or ac micro nothing only lights work

The maximum power produced by your generator is in its rating. It can be produced if you keep the frequency by adding more fuel to the engine.
If the fuel is insufficient, no matter why - the frequency (rpm) will drop down and the motor may even stop.

I had a Colman that only surged when it had a large load on it. ConsumerReports.org says that some Coleman generators just can't hold a constant voltage. Hondas are expensive but very good,.

Idles to high to much power

It idle to high because to much fuel input in the carburator. Try to adjust the speed to required frequency 50 or 60 HZ ( it depend upon the country you are living ). You cannot start now because the generator have overspeed protection or over voltage protection that may trip & need to reset before you can run agin the generator.
