Head phone jack faulty

hashmi903,
To fix the head phone jack on a system you would need to replace the sound card or the motherboard where the headphone jack is soldered onto the board. You could send it back to Dell for repairs or contact your local computer repair shop for repairs.

My dv2175ea power inlet faulty

Most power cord ports are soldered directly to the mother board. Open this one up and see if it is a separate part or not. If it is, you could probably just replace the small part, but my bet is that it would take an entire system board replacement.

My laptop acer aspireone mini laptop screen is blackout i can't get it started.

You might have a faulty Liquid Crystal Display [LCD] Panel Power Inverter. Or the LCD Panel itself might be faulty. Either can be replaced. The Inverter is relatively inexpensive, a replacement LCD Panel, a little more.

To test for a faulty screen, connect your notebook to an external Desktop Monitor, using a standard VGA Cable -> press and hold the Fn key bottom left of your keyboard -> press the Function key at the top of your keyboard with the image of the two monitors on it -> release both keys -> if the image sent to the external monitor is correct then the fault is likely to be in one of the components of the LCD Screen and you should take the notebook to a repair centre to test test and replace the faulty component(s).

If you cannot start the computer at all, but there is a constant or flashing Power Light Emitting Diode [LED] on at the front but no Hard Disk Drive [HDD] LED on, then either the battery is faulty, there is a loose Direct ()Electrical) Current [DC] Jack, the Graphical Processing Unit [GPU] chip is faulty or there is a damaged Motherboard Power Management Track.

To eliminate other possible causes of the symptoms you describe, remove the battery and connect the notebook directly to the mains electricity without a battery and then try to power the notebook up. If the notebook powers up and boots into its Operating System then the battery cells are probably depleted and cannot recharge, so the battery should be tested and, if found faulty, replaced.

If the battery is not the problem, check for a loose DC Jack. If the point where the the Power Cable connects to the notebook is loose and is either in intermittent contact or not at all in contact with its solder points on the motherboard, then power might not be reaching the motherboard. Loose DC Jacks can be re-soldered or replaced if damaged.

A loose DC Jack that is in intermittent contact with the motherboard, an electrical power surge or sudden power cut or disconnection of the power cable can damage the Power Management System of the motherboard. It is sometimes possible to repair Power Management problem afflicted notebook motherboards by replacing blown capacitors and/or bypassing burnt out or damaged circuit tracks by creating new ones. Extensive damage to a motherboard might make it uneconomical to repair. Replacement motherboards are available and could be installed but when combined with the cost of labor for the overall repair the price might be prohibitively high.

A faulty GPU can have new tracks made to it, or have a damaged chip (silicon chip) surface cleaned to restore lost graphics by two different processes, Ball Graphics Array (BGA) Reflowing or BGA Re-balling. Re-balling has the longer lasting and better success rate. When the surface of the GPU is too damaged it may not be possible to repair it.

All of these motherboard repairs require a laptop repair specialist to disassemble the notebook and test, replace or repair any faulty components. These repairs can be expensive and need to be weighed up against the current value of the notebook and the cost of a new replacement notebook.

The dc power jack will not accept power. I have to wiggle it to get the blue light to show that the laptop is charging. My computer is the acer aspire 5920-6423. I was told it wouldn't have to soldered...

If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position thisLED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a drysolder joint where it is connected to the motherboard.

The laptop needs the motherboard removed to get access to the DC jack so it can be resoldered or replaced if it is faulty.
This can be repaired but itrequires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket andrepair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

I bought new universal adapter for asus laptop and it charges batery just when laptop is turned off

Problem description: The battery charges only when the laptop turned off. The battery charge LED lights up as normal and the battery gets charged to 100% while the laptop is off.
When the laptop is turned on, the battery charge LED goes off even if the adapter is still plugged in.
Possible cause: 1. AC power adapter failure.
2. Battery failure.
3. Broken/loose power jack.
4. Motherboard failure.
Possible troubleshooting steps and repair solution: 1. This problem could be related to a faulty AC power adapter. It's possible that the AC adapter doesn't provide enough power when plugged into the laptop. To find out if this is your problem, you'll have to test the laptop with another working adapter.Replace the adapter if needed.
2. There is a slight chance that you have bad battery. Test the laptop with a know good battery and replace the faulty one if needed.
3. The battery charge problem could be related to the power jack. Maybe the jack is broken or not making good contact with the motherboard. It is necessary to remove the motherboard and take a closer look at the power jack. Resolder or replace the jack if needed.
4. If the power jack is in a good working shape and new power adapter with battery do not fix the problem, most likely you have a faulty motherboard. Replace the motherboard if needed.

Its not comeing up on my sram

Hello.

From your comment, I'm figuring you are referring to power.

The most common reasons are the battery, power adapter/cord and power jack.

If you move/wiggle the power adapter at the point where it connects to the laptop, and the power goes off and on, the power jack is the problem.

The power jack is inside the laptop and either needs soldering or replacement.

If no change, the power adapter is probably faulty and needs replacement.

Also, power off and remove the battery. If the laptop powers on with just the adapter connected, your battery is faulty.

Remove the heatsink and apply new thermal paste or the motherboard may need replacing.

Leave power jack repair and heatseat application to an expert if you are not familiar.

Hope this helps.

Faulty charger point.when i plug charger in i have 2 keep still other keeps going off

If the charger jack on your laptop gives you intermittent connection, the changes are that it needs to be replaced. If you are good at soldering on PC boards you can replace it yourself. if you take it to a repair shop they will probably charge you about $90 to replace the jack.
If you want to consider replacing it yourself, take a look at

You can Google "laptop power jack repair" for more information and service sites.
Hope this helps.
