Question about Canon PowerShot A640 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Daate Stamp We recently lost our Canon A95 camera and replaced it with a Canon A640. We cannot get the "Date Stamp" to work on the menu. We see it listed last on the menu. However the lettering is black (not white like the others) and we cannot get on it to turn "Date Stamp" on. You Camera User Guide is useless. Please advise how to turn the Date Stamp feature on. Re: Daate Stamp

Some functions are not available in all modes.

You have to select Postcard mode to be able to enable the feature (about Page 35). Postcard ratio is 3:2.
If any other ratio is selected (e.g. 3:4) then if it were possible to enable the function it would probably not appear in the printed area.

How do I turn off the date and time stamp on my canon powershot sx110?

The menu on the camera controls the date and time stamp. Turn on the menu i camera mode, there are three choices, Camera, Settings and customize. Time stamp should be in the middle menu. Look for time settings and turn it off. All pictures have time and date always. The time/date stamp just makes it visible in the image.

Canon A95 - Date and Time setting

Date and time stamp only works in one resolution mode. It's called "Postcard" resolution, and it's the one at 1600 x 1200 pixel width and height. Set your resolution first to Postcard, then set the Date/Time back to on.

Cannot turn date stamp on in menu settings.

Date stamp is only possible when you set the resolution (picture size) at "Postcard 1600x1200" option, if the date stamp is set to "Date & Time" or "Date" option
