SOURCE: Pioneer DEH 1900 MP receiver - cannot pick up AM stations

normally the problem you are describing means that your antenna is bad. typically, if you have no am good fm bad antenna if you had good am and no fm the fm section of your radio would be bad.

you can test this but you will need an antenna (this can be purchased at most car parts stores for about $10.00) pull out the radio unplug the black round plug from the back of the radio and plug in the new one ( the antenna plug is a universal fit) you will probably need to ground the base of the antenna for the test then turn your radio I'm sure this will fix your problem but if not you can e-mail me at merle840@aol.com

SOURCE: My bewalt radio picks up fm stations then will cut out or want pick up at all

That is a classic symptom of a weak boradcast signal, signal strength varies with location and atmospheric conditions, that is why you can sometimes pick the stations up and other times you can't. If you don't have an external antenna try and hook one up to boost the signal strength.

If you pick up FM. It isn't the antenna. It's an internal radio problem.

Why can I only get my one local am station when the fm works alright

AM and FM transmit differently, so \it's not surprising that there's a difference in the number of stations you pick up. Also, AM radio is a dying medium, so there may not be as many staions in your area as there are FM.

FM or AM

You may have to manually set the preset stations on the unit itself. Read the user manual.
