Question about Canon Office Equipment & Supplies
I have a Kodak ESP 5250 All-in-one-printer. While everything appears to be correctly installed and the ink cartridges are relatively new, my printer shoots out blank sheets.
There are a couple of nasty little issues regarding printers all alike. usually when replacing ink cartrages there is a chance you upset the print heads when installing. there are 2 ways to try to solve the problem:
1 is usually on the printer theres a feature to print an alignment page or a button to align the print heads, both easy and hard to find depending on the printer, it can take several attempts to work. use it with one deep clean of the print heads for better results.
2 is to manually try to find printer services from the computer side. some printers have it some do not. i cannot guarentee there will be one. using windows 7 go to devices and printers and inside printer properties of your default printer you can find it there if it is there.

SOURCE: PRINTING BLANK SHEETS
You need to put the test page that was printed into the scanner part of the printer and then press the scan/blue button. This is so the printer can calibrate the new ink. When you have done that the next time you turn on the printer a blank page will not be printed. When you next change ink you will have to repeat the above procedure.

SOURCE: Kodak ESP-3 Will not print calibration page. It goes thru the motions, spits out blank paper. This is supposed to happen prior to connecting to computer or installing software. Tried two printheads
I have severe and often different problems with my Kodak ESP-3 printer. Sometime it`s banding of the colors, then I`ll align the printhead and I`ll have a color problem or no color at all. I just talked to Kodak Customer Service by phone, 11 a.m. PST. After a few automated questions I had a live operator in less than 3 minutes. The service tech went thru some diagnostic steps with me and the printer and after about the 5th step determined I had a faulty printer head. If the green on/off light keeps blinking when it shouldn`t be, that is a sure sigh of faulty printer head, it means the printer is not recognizing the head. Kodak seems to be very aware of this problem and are sending me a new printer head UPS, free of charge. After reading some previous reviews I`m suprised how good the customer service was. Maybe I just called at the right time and got lucky.

you need to use the head cleaning tool in the printer properties, youll
need to keep running it untill it runs clear and it uses alot of your
ink while it does it.
youll find the cleaning option if you go to your
start/settings/printers and faxes, right click on your printer and go to printer preferences then maintinence

If this is an old printer. The nozzles might be clogged. A Q-tip with a little alcohol might get some of that dried ink out. Be careful it could get messy. Also see if your printer has a built in cleaning test. you might have to access the test from the printer tools on your computer.
