Toshiba TV remote source button continuous rolling - can't select from menu

Do a reset to this TV, and then check. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Toshiba model 36A43 a Universal remote, a HD Digital Antenna the TV's settings menu no antenna as a auto ch. program search. Has TV/CABLE, I tryed cable didn't set.

I've checked the specs: of your TV. Its original remote control number is "Toshiba CT-90157". This remote control have a slide switch by the left side of it, [a selector switch]; that selects inputs TV, CBL/Sat, VCR, and DVD. You have to select the slide up position to select the TV, to select the TV function by its buttons. Just have to slide one step down to select the input to CBL/SAT; to select the CBL/SAT function by its buttons.
But, without a remote control, you can seect the TV/Video function by its front panel controls. There is press button switch, just right side of its Menu button. For each press of it, the set's input selection will change from TV to Video and vice versa.
Just press this button to select the TV as the input. Then only, the antenna socket at its back will turn effective. If you can't select input by this way, the input selector switch; specified above, has the fault, or the input selector IC inside the circuit board is faulty. Just try this after a Hard Reset to this set, and then check. If it do not help you, contact any service technician, or the authorized service center for Toshiba.

When i power up my 47 inch flatscreen the power comes on for a second with the picture than shuts off

With most televisions there are two options why you won't get any image on your screen:
1) You are using cable and haven't chosen a channel yet, try using the power button, and immediatly chose a number of which you know is a chanel.
2) You are using a DVDplayer, Digital television, ... and your tv is still connected to the cable or another input. Look for a button on your remote that is shaped like a square with an arrow pointing in it from the side, hit this button to swap between input channels to find the right input.

Tv/video switch won't switch

The model indicated is a older Toshiba rear projection(if another brand/model let me know)

You should be able to select the rear inputs either via the remote (original one) or with the input (video) button on the set.

If in the menu they are grayed out--it means they have been locked out.

Failing that a serious problem exists in the set's microprocessor.

Hint: if you have not tried it UNPLUG THE SET FOR A WHILE TO SEE IF WHEN YOU PLUG IT BACK IT WILL RESET and restore the inputs.

Lock the A/V ports

Hi there,

Yes you can, you have three diferent lock options:

'channel' this option allows you to lock or unlock particular channels.
'program' this option allows you to lockout a particular TV show.
'game' this option allows you to lock channel 3 and channel 4 plus the external inputs.

To activate the game lock on the tv you need to press the 'menu' key then press the down arrow till you get to 'lock' and press ok.You will then be asked to input a password, if it is the first time you have used the password then you will need to input a code of your choice twice to register it (write the password down and put it somewhere safe) Then you will be in the 'lock' menu so using the down arrow go to 'menu' and select it then se it to 'custom' you will then be able to select the 'game' option by arrowing down to 'game' and select it so that it shows 'on'. Your tv should now have locked out the external inputs etc. To unlock it you go through this procedure again just this time you select so it shows 'off' You can also select 'custom' in 'game' mode which will allow you to select which external inputs to lock which is useful if you have DVD players or other devices connected to your TV and is something for you to consider. Full details of above procedure are in the user manual page 32 - 33 under the heading Lock.

I hope this answers your question.

Regards,
James

Have a Vizio VX37L that when it is turned the

HERE'S THE FIX: I just went through this with my Vizio VX37L. TV is stuck in RGB input. This is the fix.... TV is stuck in RGB input.
(option 1) Power on TV, and press the INPUT button repeatedly and rapidly until you can change to a different input, such as AV.
If that doesn't work, try:
(option 2) With the TV off, press and hold the INPUT button on the side of the TV for about 5 seconds. The TV should power on and the input list will appear. The TV will no longer be locked, and the INPUT button should function properly after that.

Option 2 worked for me!

Proview 3200 Flatscreen with HDMI Problem

Maybe the input on the tv needs to be adjusted to work with the cable tv for example in the tv menu where you can adjust the sources for the inputs maybe it is set to something like RGB instead of HDMI. If you have a user manual consult it on how to change the input devices. Good luck.
