Oven sometimes works ok other times takes twice as long to cook . Think it may be thermostat .I have no experience of repairing ovens Is it difficult to change thermostat

sometimes they are hard to get to, looking at this picture i would think the panel has a screw or two on it that have to be removed , and always remove the power first, the thermostat has a capilery that goes into the oven , it is kind of like a long small tube that has a larger tube at the end of it , the end is what feels the heat so this long hose like tube will have to be sneaked back into where you took the old one out of. you must be very careful with the new one or you will be buying more of them if you get back to me Model, make, serial number i will locate one for you to buy ,, also temp range on the one you now have in the oven you can find this by looking a the knob temps ...Frank

How do I use this oven? Is it working correctly?

It would seem that the oven is small enough that a fan to flow the heat from the unit would be in use for both convection and bake modes. Usually convection ovens will have a "burst" of fan action during the bake process and it is not a steady fanning of the air that would dry out your cookies, ect. I have a small oven / microwave and my larger oven is a GE that has the "burst" convection that I described. Might not be that much help, but it's hard without more info on your unit. sometimes the model is behind the oven door.

My clock and temperature display is dim

Hi, this will happen over a period of time and its just heat related. the control panel isn't insulated properly and , there has been a larger than normal transfer of heat to the inside of the control panel where the circuits are housed.

If this is a problem, i recommend replacing the control board. it will fix the dim issue.

Oven not heating

Hello.
If the fan is working, but there is no heat, then it is the fan oven element that needs to be replaced.
It has nothing to do with timer on this occasion.
Remove panel at rear of oven compartment, there you will see the round element.
Undo fixing screws, and remove element, disconnect leads and fit onto new element, refit new elemrnt, replace cover, and job done!!!

Please leave a fixya rating for my solution.
Thankyou

No manual

The light bulb is the oven light.
The snowflake with 3 raindrops is Defrost Mode (fan runs with no heat to reduce defrost time)
The 2 lines up top & down bottom is Traditional Cooking (heat from top & bottom elements)
The big circle with a fan is the Fan forced Oven
The small line at top only is the Grill Mode
The larger line at top only is the Double Grill Mode
The line up top with the fan underneath is Double Grill with Fan mode
The line on the bottom with fan on top uses the lower element with the fan for delicate dishes

The manual can be found on the Baumatic website - www.baumatic.com.au - select your product which takes you into another page & you will see on the left hand side a link to "View User Manual"

Heating

i would first check the lower units bake element , usually a visually inspection is enough to determine if its good or nor, usually a burn mark can be seen on the element itself, and if you can even see the element the bottom f the oven cavity will lift off for better inspection

Kenmore Range 911.9324890

Replace recepticles for large elements. It is the part that the heating elements go into. And while you are at the appliance store, pickup a new bake element for your oven. Just unscrew element from oven wall and install new one.
