Question about HP DC663A (64 MB) Graphic Card

1 Answer

Second Life According to second life, my Intel graphic card, which is installed on my HP Pavillion e4900 laptop is not compatible and therefore does not support Second Life. What kind of impact would getting one of the two graphic cards that are compatible (ATI Radeon 8500 or higher, or, nVidia Geforce 2 or higher) have on how my computer operates? And what's the average cost of these cards? Thank tiy

Well, alot of factors come into play. First get an ATI 9700, ther less than hundred now, get it from a Computer store that actually has staff that know about computers, dont go to best buy or someplace like that, they only stock the better more expensive ones.

Make sure you get the right one, I.E. AGP or PCI, whichever one your PC is. The graphics card will make your P.C. run better when it comes to rendering graphics so you will see improvement on Games in the way of smoothness and detail. Picture viewing and editing will improve.

If you dont know anything about computers, or enough to get the right hardware, then find an Altek computer store or a comp USA or some kind of store that deals mostly with computers. take your whole unit and go in with it and ask a rep, say, " I need a Video card that fits this machine that meets or exceeds the minimum requirements of this program. Take the program box with you also.

Be prepared for them trying to sell you more than you need, get something thats better than the minimum requirements for the program so that way your sure to not have performanc issues.

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Can I install HD video graphic in my PC Hp 2000 notebook RAM 3GB T3500 @2.10GHz mobile Intel (R)45 Chipset family therefore I want to know how can I install the HD graphic driver

In most laptops you can't replace anything but the RAM so your out of luck for installing a new graphics card, although Intel HD graphics are integrated in the cpu so its hardwired in and can't be changed, but for most basic tasks it will be alright.

Does anyone know how to use proxy servers to get past a parental blocking site for Second life?

Hmm don't you have to be at least 18 to play SecondLife?
You can use a proxy server but I doubt that will bypass the parental block on the SL app.

If your laptop is a HP Compaq nc6220 and it has been upgraded to win7 you may have reached or exceded your laptops Hardware limitation, therefore your graphic card does not support areo. That said, you can, most likely use vista drivers for your Intel 915GM Graphics Card.

Running two ATI cards is CrossFire not SLI, and no, you cannot run those two cards together. I am assuming you are reffering the the Video game Second life. The 4870 is still a beast of a card, I find it next to impossible it wont run the game. Make sure you have the latest CCC driver from game.amd.ati.com

When you install a new video card you must disable the onboard video card by going into the bios setup. Below I have listed the requirements of Second life game. e 531 does come with PCI-E slots so make sure you buy a VIDEO card with PCI-E Walmart sells some pretty decent priced Graphics cards. pretty much any pci-e card you buy new in walmart these days will be fine for this game.

PC Minimum System Recommendations:

* Internet Connection*: Cable or DSL

* Computer Processor: 1.6GHz Pentium 4 or Athlon 2000+ or better

* Computer Memory: 512MB or better

* Video/Graphics Card**:
o nVidia GeForce FX 5600, GeForce 6600, or better
o OR ATI Radeon 9600, X600, or better

I have a HP Pavillion DV 2000 laptop with me. When i boot my system it gives 1 long beep followed by two short beeps and the system doesnt boot. I am not sure as what to do. Can someone help me here?

This website:
http://www.pchell.com/hardware/beepcodes.shtml

Lists standard beep codes for computers. The one long, followed by two short beeps indicates a display problem according to the site.

I have heard other people say that the same beep codes specify a RAM problem.

Have you recently installed any new RAM or a new graphics card, or made changes to either.

It seems likely to be the graphics card because of the missing info on the screen. Usually when RAM is bad there is something on the screen.
