SOURCE: Camera mode video not working

This could be as simple as the iris stuck closed or more expensive (ccd defective). Without taking the camera apart, it will be difficult to say with any confidence. Have you looked around to see what a repair estimate will cost? Perhaps you can get a detailed estimate from a local shop. We may be able to walk you through the repair?

SOURCE: No playback

It could be video head partial damaged or got dusty, another possibility the tape guide alignment was out of position. If the video defective it require to replace1 drum assembly it come the video head and motor it is not worth to repair and you need a qualifier Tech after replace it they need to connect computer to do alignment mechanism and electronics
If the head is dusty you could try insert the H8 tape cleaning should buy from Sony may be you can clean the video head the change is 30% success
I hope that give you some ideas

SOURCE: Sony CCD-TRV65. Blue screen during playback

Just bought the exact one from a yard sale for 20 bucks. Had the very same problem with the blue screen on playback. What i did is replace the battery in the small bay when you open the viewfinder. Try playing your tape again and it will work!

Hi, my husband bought a fuji a330 from a friend and it seems to be stuck in playback mode (blue screen that says no image). I can't figure out how to switch back to camera mode. Can anyone out there tell...

You need to open the frontcover fully untill it clicks, and, if still in playback mode, to press the shutterbutton half way down.
If you hold down the playback button for 2 seconds, even while the lenscover is closed, the camera will go into playback mode.

No image message

It sounds like you are in playback mode with no images on the memory card. There is a dial on the top of the camera that selects cameras mode or playback. The manual is available for download here:

Canon Optura 40 playback - only get blue screen - no image, no sound

Try a cleaning tape. Buy a good quality cleaning tape (Panasonic makes one) and remember: cleaning tapes are abrasive so don't overuse it! Overuse can result in the need to replace the rotating drum assy in the camcorder. I'll bet a cleaning tape takes care of your problem.

Blue screen on playback on Sony DCR-HC40

You can see an image in a camcorder viewfinder any time the camera's actually on in record mode, whether or not the camcorder is actually recording. So that's no guarantee.

Assuming the obvious (you have the right kind of tapes, they're not in write-protect mode, you rewind before playing, etc). I recommend that you borrow a tape of the same kind from someone else and check it on playback in your camcorder. This should lead you know understand if you have a playback problem or a recording problem.
