Belkin router setup wont work

you shouldn't type it as http://router/. instead you need to type the default gateway of the router.
most probably it will be either http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.2.1
after you type the above mentioned URL in the address bar, hit enter.
the router will ask for a default username and password.
again the username is admin, leave the password column blank and hit enter or log in.
you can find the option to change the default ssid and wireless key over there. if you need more assistance on this, please do reply to this post.
p.s: once you change the ssid and wireless key, you need to reconfigure your laptops or mobile phones or ipods whichever is connected wireless.

Can not use router

Modify the settings of your Netgear first:

Follow this instructions:1. connect via hard wired connection using your PC (network cable)2. open your internet explorer or any browser.3. type the numbers 192.168.0.1 on the address bar4. you will be routed to your router's settings, type admin for USERNAME: and admin for PASSWORD.5. look for the basic setup/settings6. look for the wireless settings7. under your SSID comes the WEP or WPA-PSK option8. that is your wi-fi password, then modified it and remember the password you use for you will need to enter it on your pc when you are connecting via wireless connection.you can select ASCII for password. it should be alpha numeric or combination of letters and numbers.9. select save and apply. then you are good to go.

Can't connect tot wireless service because of windows firewall

to connect wireless service to your netgear, we need to connect your laptop directly to the router hardwired. and by ensuring that we are connected try to open a browser and type this inside the address bar. 192.168.1.1. default username is "admin" default password " password " you would be taken to the netgear page. then on the leftside of the screen click on to wireless settings. there you can configure your wireless settings. and click on to apply settings. then try to connect again.

Most likely you don't. But, you can create a new one if you know the password to the router. Most Netgear products use admin as the user name and, by default, password as the password. Out of the box, the address of an N300 is 192.168.1.1 If you open a browser on a WIRED connection and type in that address, it will open a box to log into the Netgear. If you can't remember THAT password, then you only recourse is to reset the router and start over.

Once you log into the router there's a tab down the left side that says Wireless Settings. In it, you will have a list of the wireless security and, if WEP the passphrase will be displayed. For any other type of security, just pick a new one. Instructions are on the right side of the screen if you need help.

My cd will not start the setup

Make sure the router is plugged into your computers LAN port. You can enter the setup with your web browser ( internet explorer ) by typing routerlogin.com or the IP address of 192.168.0.1

It will ask for a username and a password, both are set factory to admin. Change your password to something different during the setup to be more secure
