SOURCE: Ford Transit warning light.

red spanner means van is due for a service. You can turn it off yourself by turning ignition key to position 2 and then holding down the brake and clutch pedals at the same time til the light flashes then goes out. Should take about 15 seconds.

Warning lights ford transit

This could be that you have gone past the recommended number of miles since your last oil change or it could indicate that you need your oil pressure sending switch unit to be checked and replaced. You should go to a local Auto Zone store and have the guys connect the module to check for error codes from your vehicle's wiring harness. This is usually a Free service.

Ford transit 110 T280 I've back smoke on excellaration and loss of power on inclines; could it be the EGR valve at fault ; also have management warning light on.?

Needs piston rings. You have lost compression so you are losing power. The oil is getting pasty the worn rings and entering the combustion chamber which would explain the black smoke and loss of power.

I have a ford transit 02 plate, with no user manual. today a indicator came on displaying the oil sign with a spanner next to it. is this a service light as the normal oil light was ok and didnt light up

Sounds like a service engine soon light. Check owners manual for reset instructions. On our 99 Mercury , you had to push a combination of buttons on the trip computer / fuel economy select buton.
