SOURCE: My LCD screen went dark
It sounds like somehow the light in the LCD has shorted out. You probably need the LCD screen. If you need some parts you may want to contact a guy in South Carolina who has lots of used parts for all the Panasonic Cameras at reasonable prices. I bought a used LCD from him and it works like new. I think his email is firstname.lastname@example.org

It looks like the LCD backlight malfunction. Check the backlight voltage, if you have the voltage there, you need to replace the LCD unit, otherwise the main board is defective.

The backlight on the display isn't working. If you look closely, you might be able to eek out an image (barely), but without the backlight, it is almost impossible to see. . It is either one of two problems: It might be that the light has a bad connection, but most likely it is that the camera isn't managing the power to the light properly. . Your only solution in the second case is to have the camera serviced. (First case - if you are good at taking things apart like this - is to find the bad connection and reseat it. Probably good to have it sent off for this problem too, if you don't want to tackle that.)
