Where I live there is a bolt shop....really. If you can, find such a shop, and take your other bolt with you and 'match 'em up'.

Another possibility is that Lowe's carries speciality bolts. They're in cabinets/drawers in the hardware section, not hanging on the wall. H/Depot probably has a similar arrangement.

Yet another possibility (and I think it's your best shot) is that, if you can match just the threads, you can buy a piece of all-thread (it's just a piece of steel rod, with the threads running the full length of the rod). Thread your nut onto the all-thread just past where you are going to make your cut, and cut with a hack saw. (You run the nut down on the rod so that, after you make your cut, you unscrew the nut over your fresh cut to straighten out the threads deformed by cutting). Total cost for all-thread and nuts......around $5. Use your existing bolt as a pattern for the new bolt, and leave evough extra to accomidate the nut that you'll add in place of the head of the old bolt. Anyone working in any hardware department anywhere on the planet worth their salt can help you.

I removed the bolts for my Danby OTR microwave. Dmw162w-otr. The microwave does not move. Are there any other bolts or is there anything I am missing before I can remove the microwave?

In a normal installation, there is a plate that mounts to the wall and bolts come down through the cabinet. Once the bolts are removed from the cabinet above mic, the mic should hindge forward. It takes two people to handle. How ever, in some cases an installation guy will add screws into the side of the unit. So look for some screws to the right and left of mic. Good luck!

Hello, I need a microwave mounting bolt that is at least 6 inches long. Can you help?

You should be able to buy bolts that long, depending on the diameter, but for mounting a microwave I would suggest you go for 5/16' (8 mm). If you cannot get bolts, use threaded rod and cut it to the length you need, using washers and nuts on both ends to create your long bolts. Most better hardware stores will stock the threaded rods but long bolts may be stocked by fastener merchants only. Good luck and please rate this answer.

Trying to remove an old GE Spacemaker microwave JVM140-001 and can't figure out how to detach it. I do not have a manual or installation instructions.

On some of these old GE Spacemaker models, there are two long horizontal bolts at the top (R&L corners), accessed behind the upper grill. Remove the grill (four tiny screws), take out the two bolts (flat screw heads) that attach to the rear plate, and your microwave will come right down and out, providing you've removed the three mounting bolts on the top.

What size are t top mounting screws on the GE JVM1350 spacesave

You may be looking for the philips flat head 1/4 x 28 tpi (threads per inch) threaded bolt that is about 4" long. The tip of the bolt does not have threads, which aids in locating the threaded hole in the top of the microwave:

General Electric's part number for their OTR microwave cabinet mounting screw is WB01X10180 (or AP3205964 or 942461 as listed on some repair parts sites).

A set of three is GE's p/n WB01X10125 (or AP3185225 or 910236 as listed on some repair parts sites).

This flathead screw is used on most Advantium Speedcook microwave ovens such as the SCA2001BSS03 or SCA2000FWW03 or SCA2001KSS03.

Here's a picture of three screws:

How do I uninstall an old Sharp R-1450 Carousel over the stove microvave oven? I removed the screws from the top that it hangs on and it still won't move. Help and Thanks.

You need to remove the grill above the door to find two more screws that go straight to the back wall plate. They will be on the left and right side. That is the only other way that they mount to the wall.

Good Luck

I found a solution for my microwave. Went to Ace and picked up some lag bolts, yellow in color (believe they said it was yellow zinc). Most common seems to be 1/4"-20, but these lag bolts had the smaller thread of 1/4"-28.

I had to go a little shorter in length because the threads don't run the entire length of the bolt. The only downside is that the top of the bolt sticks out inside the cabinet (but only about 3/16"). Well worth it so I didn't have to buy an installation kit that was in the $40-$50 range.
