1. Lightscribe needs its own drivers and a labeler like Surething CD Labeler

2. If your HP came with sonic and you installed Nero or something else there is a good chance neither programs will work.
I had the same issues with my lightscribes (2) I thoughtlessly installed Nero without removing the Sonic Digital Media + in my HP the burner no longer worked, I reinstalled both programs after removal. I had to run the Nero Clean Tool first

before the burner would work again.... only with the Sonic though Nero never did anything but mess up my burner, the lightscribe came back after installing the correct drivers, if your lightscribe is very light almost unseeable, then there is a contrast enhancer for the lightscribe
