Question about Prestige Remote Start
I used my remote to start my 2001 Lincoln Navigator. Twenty minutes later I went to get into my vehicle and the remote would not unlock or start the Navigator. I can use the key to open the truck however, the alarm goes off and I can not start my truck at all. The icon on the remote shows that there is a signal going out, but the truck is not responding and I can not use my truck at all. Please help me,

SOURCE: my car alarm key remote
This might sound stupid, but have you tried first replacing battery in remote, this could cause this instantly, just like a TV remote. First try that. Hope that solves it right away.

find the program button and turn on ignition without starting the engine and press and hold the button till it goes steady

where did you get it installed? what kind of car is it? unplug the brain of the security system and see if your car starts

The LED blinking twice and, the trunk and hood being displayed on the remote indicates trunk/hood trigger. Now, when you attempt to remote start the vehicle and nothing happens, it's definitely the hood pin switch. By the way, the remote should be displaying "inhibit" as well at this point. Check for the hood pin switch under the hood; it's probably bent downward, not allowing the pin to make contact with the hood when it's closed. If it's a bracket, bend it upwards. If it's a pin, unscrew it upwards a couple of turns so it makes contact with the hood when it's closed.

Maybe the installer did not hook up the remote starter unit to disarm the factory security system upon entry or remote-starting. Ask the installer to double check that part of the install as it would cause the factory security to trigger even though you unlocked the vehicle with the remote start unit remote.
