Question about Kenmore Dryers

Open Question

I have a Kenmore HE 3, model number 110.8787,8789. I cleaned the lint screen, unscrewed the plastic that holds the screen and cleaned all lint out. After doing so, my dryer won't start. I was told to make sure the two wires connected to the metal strips in the lent box were securely connected - they were, and the dryer still does not work. the check lint screen is still red.

SOURCE: Kenmore dryer...How to remove toe panel to clean lint out.

Insert a putty knife into the seam where it meets the front panel about 2 inches in from each side. There is a small retainer clip that you will need top depress in order for the panel to release. If you go to searspartsdirect.com and enter your model number, you can find a helpful illustration under the "Cabinet" heading. The clips I mention are listed as item 46 just ot give you a perspective. I would also strongly recommend that you UNPLUG the dryer before cleaning the interior cabinet. There are live voltages present even with the dryer turned off. Particulary around the heating circuits. I hope you find this information helpful.

SOURCE: Model 11-85862400: Check Lint Screen light

Disconnect power and remove the two screws from the bottom flange of the toe panel then pull the panel down and off the cabinet.

Remove the screw from the lint duct bracket and remove the bracket. Remove the two hex-head screws from the lint duct and remove the duct.

Remove the wires from the terminals of the thermal fuse then join them together and insulate the connection properly.

Reconnect power then press start. Replace the thermal fuse along with the thermistor if the dryer starts. The thermal fuse is wired in series with the motor and if it is blown, power to the motor is terminated and will not run. No dryer function works when the motor doesn't run. The thermal fuse usually blows due to failed thermistor or blocked lint screen or vents. This is the reason the "Check lint screen." message flashes.

Disconnect power, if the dryer still doesn't start, then remove the top panel and check if the belt is still on. The belt activates the belt switch which is also wired in series with the motor and the thermal fuse. The motor will therefore not run if the drive belt is off and the belt switch is not activated.

Check the wire connections on the electronic control board. The electronic control board has indeed failed and needs to be replaced as what the Sears repairman said. The electronic control board is part number 8546219 and it costs about $180.

when you removed the screen from the inside you disconnected the wires from the 2 metal strips. now you need to remove the lower panel on the front. and reconnect them. you will need a T-20 torx and unplug the dryer to be safe. the wire will have 90 degree push on connectors and it does not have any polarity concerns. the two male connectors are real close to the top of the panel, maybe even slightly under the other panel. By the upper right of the silver fan duct.

When you cleaned the lint out and of course you removed some plastic pieces that went around the screen area. I with you up to there. Did you notice the plastic clip with a metal clip like thing on it. I'm not going to try walk you through every detail. But when I first read your post. I thought about the clip that holds the door closed some of the newer units use a ground to sense if door is completely closed and if accidentally knock the little metal part off which is fairly easy to do. The unit won't receive the ground for its confirmation of the door closed. And yes it may be trying to find it's door lock and that maybe the clicking or knocking sound

How do i replace baffle w10113136 from my kenmore dryer

I would need the model number.
But there are a few ways. Basically you need to get the top off. Some models that don't have the consol on top you can just take the 2 screws off the back that go to the top and after the top is removed it is held in with 3 5/16ths screws.
Another model has the lint screen on the top. With that you take the 2 Phillips head screws under the lint screen off and use a putty knife where the front panel meets the lid and push them back to get to the drum. If the lint screen is inside the door on the front youtube how to take push the consol up and remove the 3 screws holding the lid down.
Basically you have to get the top off.
once the top is off you manually spin the dryer until the baffle you want to replace is on top. If it's fallen off you will also need the 3 mounting screws.

Lint screen won't go down all teh way.

take the metal duct out that the lint filter slides down into, stick the metal strip through the hole in the side of the duct so that when it's in the bottom part of strip is flush up against the back side wall of duct and it should have like a half inch or so sticking out of the hole, but before you stick it in clean out the duct and with a thin long screw driver open the plastic cover that the filter slides through and poke out any lint in the slots that the filter slides in.so unplug the dryer, remove the bottom panel of dryer, remove the lint filter and screws that hold the lint filter duct in place they are 1/4 inch head screws, clean out the duct and the side slots up above the duct in the plastic area then slide the metal strip into the hole so that the bottom part that you first put into the hole fits flush up against the back inside wall of duct and the top of strip will be flush to the outside wall of duct and like around 1/2 inch or so still showing.hope this helps

Kenmore washing machine model 110 he3t code fo2

FO2 is the code for long drain. The filter on your pump is probably clogged with lint and stuff. You have to remove the bottom front panel, 3 torx screws underneath. The panel will drop and come off. Drain off the excess water from the hose you see. The white filter cover is right in front. Get yourself a bunch of towels or a good big plastic bag to collect water. Unscrew the filter cover and twist the filter out. Clean out all the stuff and put it back in carefully.

Dryer takes too long to dry a load

Have you checked the lint screen? pull the lint screen out and remove the lint then hold flat and pour water on it. Does the screen hold the water or does the water flow through? If it holds water, then you must actually clean the film that has coated the screening material. Use dish soap and scrub lightly then rinse clean. and check again.
