Assuming you are talking about the Xerox 3030/3050 wide format printer, you don't replace the fuser, only the individual components eg. fuser roll

Error U4-1000 (Xerox CopyCentre C116 copier)


U4-1000 Indicates Fuser on time failure

Follow these steps:

1. Check for paper on the fuser.
Y remove paper N proceed to step 2
2. Check the installation of the fuser assembly, make sure it is securely installed.
Y reinstall fuser N proceed to step 3
3. Remove the fuser. Check the conductivity of the contact points of the thermostat, are the contact points connected
N replace the fuser

Xerox put identity chips into their consumables and I presume IBM do the same which means even if the fuser is exactly the same your printer is going to reject it as a incompitable part
