If you can't find one from the emachines websites' support section, then you may need to purchase an OEM copy of the OS it is using (usually cheaper than the full versions) and just download the drivers from the emachine website. If you know someone that has an OS disc matching what you have (i.e. Windows 7 Home Premium) then you can use that one and type in the windows product key from the sticker on your pc.

SOURCE: setting up a new hard disk and operating system on an Acer Power SC

There should be more than one disk, as the other will be drivers, all you need to do is press F2 or Del to get into your pc's bios settings and change the first boot device to your cd drive, insert your acer disc into the drive, then save the bios settings, restart the pc ,then, when prompted on screen to press enter to boot from cd; do so.

You should then follow instructions to set up windows on the 'C' drive as is default and it may need to reformat in NTFS.

SOURCE: Hard Disk Crash

If you have replaced HDD of your machine, then there is no otherway to get your things back rather than installing them. If you have CDs from Sony, then you are safe.

Need to make a recovery disk for a acer extensa laptop recovery disk. Computer has recovery hard drive problems.

Try download Hirens boot disc this is now v 15.2 and about 500mb file ,google this it can be put on USB stick or burnt to cd.it has just about every tool know to man for computer related problems with a whole host of HDD stuff.however if your hard drive is starting to fail you need to get it copied over to another drive ASAP. Bad sectors can sometimes be fixed without losing data but it's only a matter of time before it becomes unreadable .

Whenever back up or defrag laptop goes off

Three things you can try:
1. Disable automatic restart on System failure.2. Boot your laptop to safe mode and run a hard drive diagnostic program3. If the test fails, the replace your hard drive:a) Order the recovery disks for your laptop from the manufacturer of your laptop. Call them to order it.
b) Take your old hard drive to a big name electronics store such as best buy, and ask them to sell you a similar hard drive.
c) purchase a USB to SATA cable (sold in most electronic stores) to turn your old hard drive into an external drive that plugs into your laptop's USB so you can transfer your data.
d) Reinstall Windows using the recovery disks and after your done, plug in your old hard drive and transfer all your data.
Let me know if this helps.

Asking for system disk; inserted recovery disk but did not work is system disk different from recovery disk

Yes, system disk is different. If you put in a recovery disk and it still didn't work, your hard drive has failed. You'll need to replace the drive, then put in the recovery disk.

I would suggest taking it to someone who knows what they're doing, since it involves getting into the case and replacing parts.

When i turn on my laptop a warning notice comes on screen immediately saying smart failure predicted on hard disc 0:ST9160310AS-(PM). Warning immediately back up your data and replace your hard disc drive....

It means exactly what the message says.
The hard drive is going to fail in the near future. I recommend you back up your data before the hard drive fails completely.
When the hard drive fails, replace the hard drive, and use your Compaq recovery disk to install Windows and the device drivers plus your programs to get the laptop working again.

We have a IBM SCSI hard disk, Type: DGHS, P/N: 59H6761, 9.1GB. At boot time, we got error: SCSI ID %: Fail. after that, the system can not identify the SCSI hard disk. Anyone know to identify/fix that...

In all likelihood, your drive has reached the end of its lifespan. You may be fortunate enough to be able to read it just long enough to recover important data, but doing a full copy of the hard drive may be out of the question.
Data recovery, in general, is tricky and not something that can be done by just anyone. The simplest way I would suggest trying to cover some of this data is to take it to a computer repair shop and have them try to read it and let them know what the important data on it is. You could try to access it yourself by either connecting it to a friend's machine or, if you're a bit more savvy, to boot up using a Linux LiveCD and read the disk that way.
In any case, with most SCSI drives being over 10 years old in some instances, I would expect that your drive has just failed.

I have samsung's hard disk it making noise like chuk,chuk.. and after that machine get hanged. hard disk is old but it has so much empty space. how i can fix this problem, please give me solution for...

Hi princewild99,

The reason why it's making noise is the hard disk is failing. Hard disks are composed of mechanical parts and is prone to wear and tear. I greatly recommend that you get another hard disk instead. There's no way to fix it unfortunately and you don't want to lose any files saved if you continue using it.

Hope this helps.

I have a serial ATA mobile disk drive, model # HD-338-SSC. My computer no longer recognizes the device and the power button on the device now displays a red light, next to the standard green light. I tried...

The disk-drive inside the enclosure has "failed".
Open the enclosure, remove the disk-drive, and take it to any computer-store, to buy a compatible replacement. Install the replacement disk-drive.

There exist commercial "data recovery" services that can try to repair your device, just long-enough to rescue and copy your files. For example, see: https://services.seagate.com/index.aspx?lng=en-US for a "no data - no charge" guarantee.

I am getting messageoperatig system not found how can I recover without recovery disk?

Start tapping f10 on start. Usually, that button is for recovery function. If that failed, then you need recovery disk -or OS installation disk. This is just of the top of my head, because we need more data about problem.Might be that your Hard drive failed for all that I know.

I'm need to replace the hard drive without having a system disk.

Google "TOSHIBA RECOVERY AND APPLICATIONS/DRIVERS SATELLITE A100/A105 SERIES" to find the cd delivered with a TOSHIBA. the fourth entry shows what appears to be the real thing. On their webpage EDIT>FIND "A15" to locate the CD.

There may be others in the 355 Google pages listed.

On the original factory disk gives a TOSHIBA Phone number, 1-800-457-7777, for support. I think they sell the disk for @$40.

good luck.
