Question about Televison & Video
When using the above DVD Disk in my Digital Video Camera Recorder Handycam, I can not record to another blank DVD thru my Sony Recording system from the finalized disk made from the Handycam. Older Sony DVD-RW 1.4 GB Finalized Disks have always and continue to copy fine. How can I use the newer DVD + RW 2.8 4X disks to achieve the ability to finalize them and then attempt to copy their contents onto a blank DVD. The copying process stops after less than a minute with a window that says you can not copy a write protected movie. I did not activate any write protection application but the disk in question appears to write protect automatically in my Handycam.

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: Copy Protection Signal
"Copy Protected Signal." Means that the data you are trying to Ahem... "Copy" probably has copy protection inbuilt into the disk & data. This is done to stop copying of pirate DVD's etc. Part of the DRM put out by the TV/Music/Film industry. There are programs that can strip protection and enable one to copy said DVD's.. AnyDVD is one that springs to mind, as does Dameon Tools, and many others simply Google for them.

SOURCE: Recording from DVR.
There is a firmware update posted on the Sony support web site. It takes care of the copy protect error. However, i have encountered an error where the recorder doesn't identify the input signal. It posts the message "waiting for input signal." I have no solution for this one yet.

SOURCE: dvd recorder wont finalize etc
The DVD drive works harder when trying to record the info faster. As the unit ages, tracking is less precise. DVD-R copies occur at 4-16X real time. Try DVD-RW disks which copy slower (now that the price has dropped substantially), and you may find that your aging drive can still copy programs from the HD to the DVD.
