You want to add a brand new sunroom onto your existing house. The problem is that you are not sure how to heat it. Electric heating with baseboard heaters will spoil the look that you want from your new room. Hot water baseboard is going to present all types of problems getting hooked in to the existing system and piping it. And, if you have hot air heating system then you will have the problem of getting ductwork to the room. There is another way to heat this room easily and efficiently.
Radiant heating has been one of the most comfortable and efficient ways for heating for many years. The problem has been in the past to find a good heating source for small radiant floors that will be affordable, effective and efficient.
This problem has been solved now, with the availability of small new electric combination heater- circulator units. These units use small electric heating elements together with a small circulator pump to give you a all in one heating source and circulator pump.
Now you just have to lay your tubing in the floor of the room you are adding on to your house. Then you run that tubing into your existing basement or other room in your house. The tubing and the electric are attached to the heating unit.Then, wire a thermostat to the unit, and you are now ready to make heat. This really makes heating a new addition room very inexpensive and easy to do.
The greatest thing about using this type of heating system is that most average do-it-yourself types can do this. All that is needed is a basic knowledge of plumbing and electric.
If you are thinking of building that little add-on and are worried about how you will heat it, think about using radiant floor heat and a small electric heater-circulator to do your project.

that is they pump the hot air in the room via a gas to the outside area
when that outside are is still inside the room then that hot air is just recirculated
so if you want to heat your room the system is reversed so that you need the hot air outside pumped back into the room
the hot air is provided by the condenser which is now the evaporator in the room as the roles have been reversed so you will have to put the unit in a door way or use the ducting hoses to go out a window
Unless you live in a very mild climate, 1200 watt heaters are good to supplement existing heated rooms only. To get an idea of how much heat is supplied by this type of heater, it is about 350 btu's or about the amount of heat produced by a person walking around in the room. A typical whole house furnace output is between 75,000 and 125,000 btu's. Again, these heaters are really not designed to heat a room, just a person in the room.
The smallest retail AC unit will cool down a 110 sqft room if...
1. It is installed in a way as to dump heat outside... 2. There is actually cool air coming out of the AC (it is working)... 3. The windows and doors are tightly closed... 4. There are no major drafty leak issues (i.e. hole in a wall)... 5. You're not adding substantial heat energy into the room (such as having 10 sweaty fat men eating food while watching Super Bowl on a 56" LCD TV)... 6. The room has at least minimum insulation (the walls are not just plywood)... Seriously, if HEAT is leaving the room by way of the AC, the room temperature HAS to decrease, unless HEAT is being added back into the room in some way. This is basically the 1st law of thermodynamics.
Unfortunately not....you see a dehumidifier puts the heat back into the room... it does not remove any heat...but... the heat from the fan motor and the compressor is added to the room... thus the heating that you are noticing...
I assume that we are talking about a "window" unit. No, you cannot just place it in the room. The machine is actually two parts; one part delivers the cool air to you, the other part ejects the heat out of your house. If you just had the whole unit inside, the room wuold actually get warmer, not cooler. The reason for this is that the compressor and motor generate heat also. The "heat of compression" generated has to be ejected from the room in order for the air conditioner to work. Put it in the window.

Your heater is only a 21K BTU heater. It is not meant to heat a whole house. We don't know how big you house is, however a 21K heater will not heat 4 or 5 rooms. The best you could expect out of a Rinnai 556 would be to heat a couple of rooms that are next to each other. You will never be able to heat rooms in your house that have doors or are down the hall a ways.
Yes this will recycle the room and can be cover outside if it is not a heat pump and will use elec heat strips to heat. As long as it is tilled toward the back the water will run out the back without a drain kit there should also be a drain hole in the bottom.
I have the same heater and it works great in my bedroom (with a door). the room is about 12 x 14. For my living room and dining area I use 2 or 3 oscillating, ceramic, fan forced heaters spaced out.
As you say, logically...since heat rises, the heat comes off the top. Only 3 things that I can think of would make that heater not work: First, a factory defect (it doesn't heat period). Second, if you have it a room that is too large for that size heater. Third, if the room has no doors (such as a living room).
If you have a draft it can work to your advantage. By placing the heater in line with the draft it will actually accelerate the heat exchange process and distribute the heat faster for you.
