My S&S camper is generator prewired white, brown, yellow, green wires, my Onan 2500 LP has Blue, Red, Brown, Green, Orange, what do I connect what to???

White Brown green and yellow are normally The 12 volt vehicle lighting colors, not 110 volt power. Generators do not have FIVE wires for the power wires out of your generator. Is this the remote control circuit? If so, I dont have a clue!

What is code p0622

Hi there:

DTC P0622 - Generator Field Control Circuit
This is a trouble code relates to the charging system and means that the Powertrain Control Module is trying to control the generator field with no result during monitoring.

This problem could be caused:
- open/shorted within the field control circuit between the PCM and the alternator ( a brown/gray wire ),
- generator ground circuit (brown/black wire),
- generator itself, or
- faulty PCM.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

I have a hg 6000 homelite generator, runs great but does not give me any power. i used it a year or so ago an everything worked fine. got a lil smoke from where windings are. the generator was made in...

Hi and welcime to FixYa. I am Kelly

This is going to sound odd but.... this is how it it is recommended to field flash and inverter type generator. (Brushless) The steps are to (not kidding...) use a male mail interconnecting wire from your house wiring and plug in your generator and turn ON the main CB for 1 minute.

If this does not work.... See steps below amnual links.

Owners manual link: (Click on get manual)
http://lawnandgarden.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/homelite/hg6000_1.html

Or try this direct link:
http://lawnandgarden.manualsonline.com/support/homelite/portable-generator/request-manual-299128

This is a brushless generator... Not sure what the smoke was but... the yellow wires are for the capacitor winding. If you probe the capacitor terminals with one of the wires disconnected with a meter on R x 10,000 you should see a brief jump in resistance and then the meter drifts to infinity.
reverse the test leads and test again looking for the same result.

Next read resistance Yellow wire to Yellow Wire (Stator capacitor loop check) It should read low resistance

Also read Brown wire to Brown wire. This is the DC stator loop check. Is should read resistance.

Main winding checks Red to Blue and White to Brown that goes to the main breaker. OR Turn the Main breaker on.. White to lower left pin of 30A 4 pin output recepticle. Bot red to blue and White to Brown MUST read low resistance

These are all the checks except the rectifier and the rotor. You will probably find something during the above tests. If not... respond here and I will pass on the rotor and diode tests.

Hi i have a steamworks iron and the iron is puting out brown water on the steam, the filter cartridge was brown so a new one is in,will this cure the problem and is there a way of cleaning the system as i...

This happens when the iron isn't hot enough to successfully generate steam (usually in hard water areas). If the iron is hot enough this should not happen. If a lower heat setting is required ie. wool do not use the steam. Hope this helps.

I have a Onan 7000 genset in my rv It starts and

Either you have a kill wire ( if I remember it is the brown wire) that is disconnected on one end or the other Or your in coach switch is bad.
Check the switch this way

Remove the switch from the dash/ mounting surface unplug the brown wire - start the genset - ground the brown wire - it should kill the motor
If it kills the motor your switch is bad

My 546i is telling me to pedal fast after I hit Quick Start or manually start a program. It's obviously not working. I just put a new battery in it too.

This problem maybe coming for n the generator it performs 3 function 1. controls electrical load / resistance to pedals 2. Charging system for the battery 3. Monitors unit when in use (stride) or when it is idle.
To test unit: Remove cover disconnect red battery lead. then use a multi-meter set function to ohms set range that can read 50 ohms. then disconnect generator lead from circuit board. M3=brown , M4= blue, M5= violet, with the meter read between Brown and blue, blue and violet , brown and violet, each of these read should be between 26 and 27 ohms. If any of the reading s are high or low replace generator

What is brown out

Brown-out .... What is it? Brown-out is a condition of lower than normal power line voltage being supplied by your local utility or generating equipment. This condition may be short term (minutes to hours) or long term (1/2 day or more). A power line voltage reduction of 8 - 12% is usually considered a Brown-out.
What causes Brown-outs? Electric utilities (your local, lovable Power Company) may occassionally reduce line voltage to Brown-out levels in an effort to adequately manage power generation and distribution during periods of heavy usage. Very hot days, when most air conditioning and refrigeration equipment would be operating almost continuously, is an example of such a situation.
Even without utility intervention, extreme overloads caused by most air conditioning and refrigeration equipment operation could tax the electrical distribution system to the point where a permanent brown-out state could exist over much of the power company distribution network.
Locations at ends of long electric distribution lines may experience chronic Brown-out conditions due to line loss. Intermittent heavy loads on this trunk circuit may cause the Brown-out effect to fluctuate with the load.
Installations using ship-board or temporary power sources are especially prone to operation in a Brown-out mode. Usually of limited capacity, it is quite easy to overload the power source, giving rise to permanent Brown-out. (Permanent Black-out, if users are not careful).
What are some common effects of Brown-outs? Brown-outs are the mother of all sorts of Bad Stuff.
Power supplies in some electronic equipment may fall out of regulation. Errors, due to erratic power supply performance, may creep into computer operations.Other electronic equipment may function poorly - or not function at all.
Marginally performing devices (electronic or electric) will probably cease operation entirely.
Motors will overheat. Some motor types will slow down.
Electrical interference will greatly increase. Increased interference may affect computer and communication operations.
Off-line UPS units (the vast majority of lower cost units) continuously cycle between power line and internal battery operation. UPS batteries (generally sized to provide only 5 - 10 minutes back-up) will soon be discharged, unable to generate additional Back Up power. You are out of business. If system has not been shut-down, the entire system (UPS & computer) may snap back to life when power rises slightly, only to again shut down when the power line voltage falls back into the Brown-out zone. Such "ON-OFF" operational cycling is unhealthy for UPS, batteries and connected electronics. For Brown-out correction see our Voltage Regulator Page.
Spikes generated by electrical machinery also greatly increase. Air conditioners, refrigerators and other motorized devices generate local spikes. Industrial machinery (often miles away) create additional spikes which may find their way unto the electrical distribution system, and into your sensitive, valuable equipment.
