SOURCE: 2305 tractor keeps stalling out
>>Check All the Fuel Connections and Make Sure they are Tight.
>>From Your Description it Sounds like a Loose Fitting or a Bad Compression Washer.
>>A Bad Compression Washer or Loose Fitting will Allow the Fuel to Drain Backwards (sometimes it takes setting for a few days for the Fuel to Bleed Back) when the Engine is Not Running. Once the Engine is Started, it Runs Correctly Until the Air Pocket in the Fuel Gets to the Injector Pump and then the Engine Stalls. The Fuel Behind the Pocket Keeps the Pump and Lines Primed so the Engine will Restart without Bleeding Any Air from the Fuel System.
>>You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Engine and Mower at this Site Addy, http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490.partscatalog.view.servlets.HomePageServlet_Alt and Enter the Model Numbers and Click Find. Then Select your Model from the Search Results Area. Then Select the Sectional File. Then Select the Section of the Mower you Wish to View Online. *You can Drag the View Windows for Better Viewing.*
Please, Do Not Hesitate, If I Missed Something or you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance.
Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Be Happy. Thanks.

DId you remove the existing gas or just topped it off? If you topped it off, I would dump the fuel and replace the fuel filter, after that I would clean the carb (Spray cleaner).

it maybe over heating check fins on sides of motor and clean if needs, another cuase is dirt fuel filter, open gas tank and look to see if there are things or dark spots on bottom of tank, is yes drain clean and flush fuel lines with wd40 change fuel filter if equiped, sediment will settle and inclines or running will move sediment and block fuel flow. when stopped they settle and will run again for time
