Question about Hoover HW6 160M Front Load Washer / Dryer

Do I have to select 'Spin' manually after my machine has gone through a wash cycle?

When my machine has finished a wash cycle it sits idle until I select a 'spin' cycle, is this correct or should it be able to go into spin naturally? It seems to be making my clothes smell funny this way!

If there is a button on the front of ur machine called EASY IRON or CREASE GUARD. turn this option OFF. this option when selected stops the machine before the spin cycle on a programme and after the machine takes in its conditioner, leaves the clothes soaking in this liquid thus its name, crease guard!

Kenmore washer 110.16112503 works in wash & spin cycle but not rinse. After wash cycle finished I hear a humming sound and the machine does nothing until I manually start spin cycle. Broken timer?

When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:
It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

GE GFWN1100LWW. Can the high speed spin work on the lower wash cycles?

From my experience, the lower wash cycles are set to only do certain things. For example: the Delicate won't do a high speed spin, even though a high speed spin wouldn't really be destructive to delicates, but would force more water out of them! I usually just run a "Drain/Spin" after the Delicate cycle.

No agitation on extra rinse cycle on Maytag Washing Machine MAV8557AWW

The manufacturer may have found there was little or no advantage to having agitation in the second rinse cycle so omitted it.

Duet whirpool washing machine stop and DLF sign appear

Hi,
Initially unplug the washing machine. While the washer remains unplugged, press and hold the [Start/Pause] button on the front panel for five seconds.
Plug the unit back in, and run a rinse and spin cycle to test if the DL code is cleared.

If you still face the problem then follow the procedure:

Unplug the washer and allow the unit to sit for 30 minutes to give the suds time to dissolve.

Plug the washer back in and press [Power] to turn on the washer.

Do not choose a washing cycle. Press the [Spin Speed] key until "No Spin" is selected.

Press [Start/Pause] to begin a drain only cycle.

After the drain only cycle has completed, remove the clothing items from the machine. Turn the power back on and select [Rinse and Spin] and then press [Start/Pause].
This will remove excess soap suds and light residue from the drum.

Repeat this step until no visible suds are in the drum of the washer.

Hope this helps.

All the cycles are working but the washing machine will not rinse the excess water left. I have tried to take out the filter but this is stuck and will not move so the water sits in the washing machine. ...

Do not run the machine until you have cleared the filter or you will burn the pump out. You need to keep working the filter until you are able to get it opened and cleared.

The machine will start a cycle normally, but after the timer reaches a certain point it stops counting down and the machine will continue to agitate until you force it to stop.

Thank you for verifying the model type so many folks post non FAV6800A/FAV9800A questions in this forum machine specific topic area.

FAV6800A/FAV9800A Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.

You will need the Service Manual for support. I’m an owner like you with a solid repair skills on the machine and will try to help you DIY the repair if we can ID the issue through troubleshooting.

Do you have this condition in all wash cycles? Will a Quick Wash cycle complete? Do you see the Cycle Status LED ever indicate the machine has moved to the Spin Cycle during the wash cycle? This could be a Control Board failure but we need to troubleshoot.

I want to make sure the Wash basket will spin up with a Spin Only cycle selection. Can you select a Spin Only cycle with a empty wash basket. I would release the washer top so you can observe this test. I want to rule out a broken Clutch large wrap spring.

Page 33 of the Service Manual will show you how to release the washer top from the base. In Spin Only cycle raise the top just enough to make sure the wash basket is rotating Counter Clock Wise – CCW with the Spin Only cycle selected and operated.

If the above test doesn’t indicate an issue I would like you to try the Quick Service Cycle test on page 15 of the Service Manual and see if your FAV6800A will pass that test with no clothes in the washer. When you put the machine in Service Mode press and hold simultaneously the Enviro Plus and Spin Only keys until the machine beeps and the LED display reads 00. Then press Wash/Rinse Temp to start Quick Service Cycle test. Did the test complete with a PA indication in the display? It will only display the PA code for a few seconds. End of cycle will beep washer will unlock and Cycle Status LED will indicate complete.

My washing machine will not work on any of the spin cycles, it seems to just sit there until the timer moves the dial to the next mark

It's likely the safety switch in the lid which keeps the machine from spinning when the lid is up. If the switch is bad it sends a false signal that the lid is up.
