SOURCE: after a power cut the unit will not function

i would be of the oppinion you have suffered a power surge and most of the curcuits are fried in my oppinion you need to replace the unit if it can be proven it was a surge your power company by law must pay to replace it to do this you need a pro tech to certify it was a surge (power spike) or if you have home contents insurance its covered by them as well

good luck

The water usually comes from under the sink it is a 3/8 line from the hot side. it sounds like you have a bad valve or stuck float. check for a small round device in the left or right front corner and makes sure it has nothing under it and is pushed down

Dishwasher runs too long

Good Morning Tessa,

I understand that your Frigidaire dishwasher, model# FDB700BFC, is running too long. I also see that it seems to be getting stuck on one particular cycle and runs continuously for hours even though the water is hot. It sounds like there is possibly a miscommunication between the different boards inside your appliance. I please ask that you try resetting your dishwasher, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 20-30 minutes. Once power is restored, try running any cycle. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Unfortunately you may have lost the controller or if you are lucky just a loose wire. You can get to all of this by taking the door cover off. If it is not a loose wire the control would be my next best guess. Sometimes they just go.

Not enough water in machine

Check to see if the water shut-off valve (located under the sink) is open. If you get water to the dishwasher, but there is still no water inside during the fill cycle, the problem might be with a faulty water valve (located at the bottom of the dishwasher, behind the kick panel, on either side), in which case replace the water valve.

The dishwasher gets stuck at a certian point during the cycle. How do I fix this

It's possible your water is not hot enough, and the washer goes into a pause heat mode. There also could be a problem with the heating element in the d/w.

Dishwasher switched itself off during cycle - no power now

It is possible that some of the pips have been washed down into the drain pump and jammed the impellor, follow the drain hose back to the pump underneath of the dishwasher make sure the d/washer is switched off at the power supply before you attempt this, if you have reasonable mechanical skill you should be able to remove front of pump to clean it.
