Question about Dryers
We've had problems this winter with our dryer only running when the start button is held. I determined that it was due to the extreme cold. I could blow a hair dryer into the bottom access and after a few minutes it would work properly. Now today, it won't work at all. The outlet is good (I checked it). All I get is a click in the power control when I push the button. Is this likely the thermal fuse?
What's the model number if you have a dryer with even heat and it will say it on the top console most likely you have a bad even heat board located in the top console, also there's a motor and heat relay in there that could be bad but usually it's the even heat board.go here
hope this helps

It sounds like your heating element has broken. There are several links provided on this site on how to replace it. You might want to take a look at davesrepair.com to purchase a new one. He has pretty good prices on the element.

get a meter, unplug the dryer and read out the fuse, pull one of the wires off when you read it out, also when was the last time you cleaned out the dryer?if it's the fuse usually the air isn't moving very well, you need to clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into, vac out the inside of dryer where the motor is and clean out the vent line and make sure the outside vent is clear,if it's a long run from the back of dryer to the outside i use a leaf blower to blow out the vent line, make sure you have 240 coming in at the back of dryer, you could have a blown fuse,if the thermal fuse is good, check the thermostats on the heater box and read out the heater, good luck,if i can help with anything else let me know

PF - Power Failure - PF error code indicates a power failure during the dryer's cycle. Press and HOLD start to continue the cycle, or press off/pause to clear display.

It appears your timer/main controller/CCU has failed in this instance.
For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...
FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.
PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.
If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.
Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.
If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.
