How to change lid switch in a Whirlpool top load washer.

Tools needed: Phillips screwdrive, flathead screwdriver, putty knife, 3/8 inch nut driver.

Every model is different. So read though. While standing in front of washer there is a phillips screw on each side of console. Some models have a screw on each side but in back of console. Some models dont have screw so you will need a putty knife to slide under console on each side an push the clips inward and lift up on console. Once you have removed the screws or the clips lift the console and allow to flip upside down and the support hindges on the back of washer. Disconnect the quick connect the clips into another quick connect Brcketed on the frame. Remove the two gold curved shaped hinges one one each side with the flathead screwdriver.Tilt cabinet back and move it away from the washer. Unerneather you will see a quick connect with wires running to the lid switch. Remove the two phillips screws that are under the lid holding the lid switch in place. Remove the 3/8 inch nut holding the ground wire next to lid switch. There are also two hindges the hold the wires inside the lip of the frame. Pull hinges towards you enough to allow the wires to come out. Install new lid switch with the two phillips screws from the old one. Reconnect the 3/8 inch grounding wire to frame. Insert the wires back inbetween the hindges to hold wires. Snap the quick connect into the frame from underneathe. It can only go on one way. Once you have the new lid swtch installed than go back in front of washer. Place the cabinet back in place. Push the lower lip of the bottominside of cabinet back under lip of frame of washer. Gently tilt the cabinet back into place. Take your hand and make sure the glide (white plastic strips ) on the back frame line up and than put the gold hinges back in place. Than do the other side. Make sure its stable. Reconnect the lid switch quick connect. Place console back into place and make sure its snug. Put screws back in place. Now standing in front of washer. Tilt washer towards you to reset the self leveling legs. Now lift the lid and start your washer in spin cycle. Close the lid and open it until the basket returns to normal stopping mode. Keep doing this it usually takes 5-10 times increase speed of basket each time ( have lid closed longer for faster speeds). When the basket breaks are reset you will hear the breaks engage and the basket slowly comes to a stop. If you see it jerking or breaking hard The break package is not reset yet keep trying to reset. Once the break package is reset and the lid switch works good than its laundry time.

Future knowledge: Lid switches go out for a few different reasons. If you drop the lid and it hits the lid switch hard it can start damaging it. Wear and tear using your washer will wear them out over time. Most common is the dropping of the lid which breaks lid switch over time. Thank you for taking your time to reason this How To and I hope this helped you in your task.

How to Change Lid Switch on Roper RAS6233KQ Top Load Washer

Disconnect both hot and cold water line from the water inlet valve. Mark the hot and cold so you don't get them mixed up. There are 2 philips head screws at the back of the machine, holding down the console to the cabinet. One in each rear corner. Slide the console forward slightly and tilt back. There are 2 metal clips that hold the cabinet and top to the back panel. Use a screwdriver and pry both clips up. ( pay attention on how to put the clips back). Disconnect the harness to the lid switch. Now stand in front of the cabinet and tilt forward towards you while pulling forward. Cabinet should slide forward. Once the cabinet has been separated fro the back panel, lift the lid up. On the right side of the lid you will see 2 screws. remove screws. (theses are the screws that secure the lid switch to the top). Now go to the back of the cabinet at the opening and look in the corner where you just removed the 2 screws, You will see a green ground wire screwed to the cabinet. Should be a 5/16 screw. (not 100% sure). Remove screw. there are 2 small clips holding the tubing for the wire harness in place. Popping both clips out should release the lid switch. Now disconnect harness holder from the top of the cabinet by pressing in the plastic clips at the side. Pay attention to the direction of the plug. Put the new plug in the same direction as the one you removed. Once you have inserted the plug and it snaps back into place, thread the tubing back behind both metal clips and clip those back in place. Secure the ground wire back to the cabinet. Now mount the lid switch back to the cabinet. You can do this with the lid up. Secure both screws into the lid switch. Close and open the lid to test the lid switch. You should hear a clicking sound. Now its time to put the cabinet back on.
Standing in front of the cabinet, tilt it forward towards you and line it up with the base frame. Tuck the front bottom lip on the cabinet under the lip of the base. Make sure that the tabs sticking up from the base lines up with the bottom of the cabinet. Be patient, may take you awhile to get the cabinet back in position.
Slide the back panel forward back in place. make sure it tucks into the back of the cabinet. Once its in place, now you can reinstall the two metal clips that secure the back panel to the cabinet. reconnect the harness to the lid switch. Tilt the console back down into place inserting the tabs on the side into place on the cabinet. Once in place slide the console backwards into place. You can now put the 2 screws back that hold the console to the cabinet.
That should do it. Plug the washer back in and start using.

Fills with water then does nothing. won't agitate or spin. I checked coupler and it is fine.

Acer Mointor

Hi, I'd like to ask for the model number. There are many to choose from and each manufacturer has different stands. (FYI, my Dell that I'm looking at has a very limited tilt back. Save the tilt for reducing the glare Ergonomically, the best thing is to have the monitor high enough vertically so that little or no tilt is needed. If you have to turn your head down to read it, you may feel neck ache after a few hours and days and.... Ugly but useful is the option of the obsolete phone book under the stand. If you want others to keep guessing, wrap it up in gift paper before placing it there! LOL!

No spinning on any of my spin cycles

If this is the Roper top load washer, you probably need a new motor coupler. Always unplug your appliance before repairing. There are two screws located on the front corners of the control panel. Remove these screws and tilt the control panel back. There are two clips holding the cabnet to the rear panel. Remove the two clips and remove the wiring harness with the 3 wires going to the cabnet. Tilt the cabnet forward and remove. Remove the two clips holding the pump in place and remove the pump from the motor. Remove the two screws hold the two clips holding the motor on. Remove the clips and the motor. Using a large screw driver remove the white plastic coupling from the rear motor shaft and the other half on the transmission shaft. Tap the new coulpler on with the end of a 3/8 socket extention so that the face of the plastic coupler is flush with the shaft. Insert the rubber part of the coupler in between the two halv'es of the coupler and reinstall the motor.
Reinstall the pump and put the cabnet back on. Reinstall the clips holding the cabnet on and the wiring harness. Tilt the control panel back in place and replace the two screws. Plug your maching back in and test. I hope this helps.

How to change out dash speakers in a 1987 chevy surb

Just found this one that you posted....

Pretty simple (if you haven't done it already!!!).

First thing, if you can remove your steering wheel, that will help a lot!! If not, and it is titlt, tilt it full down.

Next, remove the lower steering column plastic, then the dash bezel (the plastic part). Don't remove the gauge assembly....

Next, the 5 or 6 screws holding the dashpad on. Once those are removed, you have to fanagle that dashpad out....pulling and keeping it evenly leveled. It will pop loose. When it does, kinda lift up and towards you, then tilt it down...you will see what I mean when you get to this point. The only thing holding it in place is metal clips....they across the front of the dashpad.

When you put it back in, same thing, fanagle it into place and then push with a little force to pop the clips and the dash into place.

That's it!

Can't get the screw adjustment to change the height of the bowl

I had a similar problem with mine - the problem turned out to be that I hadn't clicked the bowl into place corectly. If you find the bowl is tilting forward slightly then you probably need to push it into the clip at the back.

Sunbeam mixmaster jammed, will not tilt back

That picture looks like you are using the Heritage model, which is the one I just fixed for myself.

I had to remove two parts in order to get access to the piece that was causing the problem:
1) The "torpedo" shaped knob that sticks out from the mixer speed dial;
2) The speed dial itself

Both of these pieces clip-in, and can be removed with a screwdriver by pressing in on one of the hooks that hold them in place.

After these two pieces are removed look for a small washer right below the motor (it is sitting on top of the upper portion of a screw) -- in my case this washer had come loose; I tightened it with a 1/4 size wrench (you can also tighten it by hand to release the tilt, it will probably become loose in the future if you don't tighten it further, but if you don't have the necessary tools this will at least allow you to get your tilt unlocked).

On another note, after tightening this washer I also noticed that the tilt release had become easier to use -- previously I found that I had to press the tilt release button very hard to get the tilt to unlock.

I hope this helps!
