Why can't I receive input from the outside sending unit?

Make sure that all the batteries are good!!
This procedure outlines the typical process to pair the sensor and base.
Base Station Battery Installation

·Remove the printed vinyl label from the LCD screen of the base station
·Position the remote sensor near the base station
·Open the battery compartment at the back of the base station and insert (2) AA batteries according to the polarity markings. Replace the battery compartment cover.
·Within a short time the RF signal icon (located to the left of the outdoor temperature channel indicator) will start flashing. This indicates that the base station is ready to pick up the RF outdoor temperature signal from the remote sensor. It will continue to flash for 3 minutes or until the signal from the remote sensor is detected.

Register the Remote Sensor
·Open the battery compartment at the back of the remote sensor and slide the channel selector switch to your desired channel. For the first remote you may select any channel, for additional remotes select any unused channel
·Insert (2) AAA batteries according to the polarity markings. Be sure to install the batteries in the remote within the time that the RF signal icon is flashing on the base station. 1541 WeatherGuide Wireless Weather Forecaster with Barometer

How Does a Home Automation System Work?

Methods of Control

  • Components of a home automation system are controlled via various methods, depending on the manufacturer. Systems may be controlled wirelessly or may be hardwired. Wireless methods use radio frequencies like Bluetooth and infrared, while hardwired systems may use ethernet, phone cable, electrical wire or coax cable. Most systems use a mix of wired and wireless components.

Lighting

  • Lighting is handled by inline dimmers, lamp plug-ins and gas fireplace dimmers. Hardwired dimmers and lamp plug-ins are installed between the light and the power source. The dimmers regulate the amount of power sent to the light giving you the ability to adjust the brightness of the lighting. Fire place dimmers work the same way, they allow you to regulate the amount of gas released and control the brightness and mood your fireplace gives off.

Heating and Cooling

  • Replacing your current thermostat with a "smart" thermostat allows you to remotely program when your air conditioning or heating unit operates and what temperatures they maintain. led displaystransparent led screenThermostats can either be programmed to switch on or off at certain times or may be controlled through the internet via an ethernet connection. You can also control it wirelessly via RF signals.

Security

  • Security setups contain a base unit and any number of wireless and hardwired sensors for doors and windows. Sensors are made of two pieces that touch when the door or window is closed. But when the device is separated, by a door or window being opened, the electronic circuit is broken. The sensor reports the breach back to the base unit via radio frequencies. If the base unit is active when the breach occurs, it will sound an alarm and a phone line connection to dial pre-programmed contacts--such as emergency services or your cell phone.

Cameras, Surveillance and Driveway Reporters

  • If you have a driveway reporter, when something passes by and breaks its laser beam, alarm security systemthe length of the break and time of occurrence are reported back to a base unit inside your home via RF signals. Units detect the presence of people and vehicles but ignore animals. Cameras work similarly--they report video data back to a base unit via RF signals. Cameras may also use infrared technology for night vision or compacted circuitry for a smaller size. The base unit for the cameras sends video signals to a monitor, VCR or a hard drive.

The remote sensor on my wireless thermo Te279NW does not record temp on inside unit

Check batteries in remote sensor and if OK try moving the sensor closer to the inside unit. Any kind of RF interference will limit the range including flourescent lighting.

The RC R0509 remote control does not respond to the receiver. I bought a universal remote and tried all the codes but still no responce.

people say that you have to tap on the receiver near the remote sensor. I don't know exactly where that is though since these are RF (radio frequency) not IR remotes, so there isn't a sensor panel in the front. I'd just tap along the front edge with the handle of a screwdriver or something. People say it works a treat.

URC-9910 remote: The RF part for this remote stopped working.

I have the same remote as yours and occasionally the RF remote is not working due the interference signal from outside or next door at certain hours.
My suggestions:
(1) To relocate the receiver and reposition the anntena for better reception of the RF signal from the remote unit.
(2) Replaced the battery.

Hope these help!
