With using a D-104 on a Maxtrac, you will probably need an audio amplifier.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: Transmit button on the lapel mic will not key the radio

Two things which come to mind, one would be if the PTT on the remote mic is bad/defective, second would be you are plugging the audio device in with the radio turned on.

If your remote mic is failing, the PTT is a repairable item, as is the cord on most models.

Yes, if you have the 16 pin connector. (The 5-pin connector is not a compatible version.)

SOURCE: I have two motorola cp 185 radios. I was using

your unit is stuck in the external mic mode. when external mic is engaged, it automatically re-routes input to the external device. this situation can happen if such an external device has not been used on the unit in a long time. i would consider this a hardware issue rather than software. solution may be to open (dismantle the radio) and clean at the interface / jack for the external connection. this should sort it out.

Hi, actually I think you have answered your own query... in that the BT headsets, well NOT ALL, are NOT compatible with the Radios.
Usually if they do not "Just work" then they never will.
There are however ones that DO work, my advice is to contact Motorola and ask them for advise on exactly which ones will work.

above is a link for a manual.

My astatic d104 mic squeals

like a pig it does . get it as far from the speaker as you can and if your radio has mic gain turn it down to about half . That should take care of it,but if it doesn't there is another way . You can change mics or open it up and solder a 4700 ohm 1/4 watt in line with the audio wire then solder a .001 waffer cap to one end of the resistor and another to the other end then solder them to the shield wire . ________________x________x________________ audio
l .001 l two .001 caps

Im trying to wire a astatic d104 m6b to a galaxy 949 mobile can you give a color code for what color wire goes were?i have black white red blue and a bare wire thank you.

This works for any mic.
dont worry about color codes. look at the switches.. there will be a common on both poles of the d104.. those need to be tied together to grnd. pin 1 on mic . the others d104 on n/c side is your rx. pin 4... the n/o one will be your tx pin 3 the other n/o will be audio and will have a wire from the mic element also on that pole of the switch. pin 2..
