SOURCE: cloged inlet filter

You can also buy new filters to replace the old inlet filters from Home Depot. They are not LG brand they are "generic" filters but they do work. LG does not supply these filters the only way to get them from LG is to purchase the entire inlet valve (keep in mind you have 2 hot and cold) to obtain these filters. You can call the parts dept 888-393-6484 and get the part numbers for these valves and a distributors phone number so you can purchase the valves from them. Hope this helps.

LG Washing machine IE error code Solutions

An IE error code will appear if the washer has not filled with water in approximately 8 minutes.

Are the water valves opened completely?

If an IE error code appears on the washer, check to make sure both hot and cold-water taps are open completely. After both valves have been opened, unplug the washer for 10 seconds and retry the wash cycle.

Are the inlet hose filters clogged?

There are filters on the inlet hose connections of the washing machine. They are intended to filter away mineral deposits from hard water and other debris from getting into the unit. If clogged, water will not flow through these filters into the washer. Turn off both the hot and cold water taps, disconnect the inlet hoses from the back of the washing machine, and clean the inlet filters gently but thoroughly.

Are the inlet hoses attached properly?

If the inlet hoses are not attached to the machine correctly, it will prevent proper water flow to the washer. Turn off the hot and cold water supply then disconnect and reconnect the inlet hoses. Ensure that they are threaded properly. After the hoses have been reconnected, open the water taps completely, check for leaks, and unplug the washer for 10 seconds and retry the wash cycle.

NOTE: The inlet filters are inside the hose connections on the back of the washer. Because of their small size, take care when removing and cleaning the inlet filters so that they do not break.

When putting the machine on no water going in and then error message H20 appearing on display

H20 means lack of or no water going into washer.
Check inlet hose/s for restriction or kinks.
Ensure water is turned on to the washer, and that there is enough water pressure to open the valve/s.
Check filters in inlet valves, if every thing o/k, then could be a faulty inlet valve/s.

Problem with Whirlpool washing machine - AWO/D 4705

The first thing to check is the water inlet valve. Unplug the machine, turn off the water, and remove the supply hoses. Check the small metal screens inside the opening on the water inlet valve and make sure they are clear of rust or debris. Check the solenoids using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Test for continuity. A lack of continuity will mean a bad solenoid and the valve will need replaced.
If the inlet valve checks out alright, then the next place to look would be a malfunctioning water level/pressure switch. It is a diaphragm like device with a small plastic tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. Make sure there are no obstructions in or damage to the plastic tube. The switch can be tested for continuity in the same manner as the water inlet valve solenoids. Really sorry for your trouble and I hope this helped. Best wishes.

Cold water flow restricted on model LA8800AL

Check the water inlet valve. Unplug the machine, turn off the water, and remove the supply hoses. Check the small metal screens inside the openings on the water inlet valve. Make sure they are clear of rust or debris. (Especially the cold water side) Check the solenoids using a multimeter or ohmmeter and testing continuity. A lack of continuity will mean a bad solenoid. I'll attach a photo for reference. Sorry for your trouble and I hope this helped. Best wishes.

Washing machine not filling with water. Programmer knob turning around on its own.

Check the water inlet valve. First, remove the water supply hoses and check the small screens inside the water inlet valve ports. Make sure they are clear of rust or debris. Next, check the solenoids. They can be tested using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Check for continuity. A lack of continuity indicates a faulty solenoid and the water inlet valve assy will need replaced. I will attach a photo for reference. Hopefully it is just dirty inlet screens. Sorry for your trouble and I hope this helps. Best wishes.

My series 80 top load washing machine is filling very slowly in cold water settings

Check the cold water supply at the water inlet valve. Remove the supply hose and check that the small screen in the inlet valve is not clogged with rust or debris. The water inlet valve solenoids can be tested using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Check for continuity. A lack of continuity indicates a faulty solenoid and the water inlet valve will need to be replaced. I am attaching a photo for reference. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Cold water problems. No flow. Already replaced houses and removed filter

If your are having a cold water supply problem, check the solenoid at the water inlet valve. I will attach a photo for reference. Use a multimeter or ohmmeter to test the solenoids for continuity. A lack of continuity indicates a faulty solenoid and the water inlet valve will have to be replaced. Hope this helped and best wishes.
