One of the first, actually the first, recorded documents of a society attempting to establish a uniform code of law. Before the code of Hammurabi, crimes and acts against persons were typically dealt with by meting out acts of retribution that far outweighed the original wrong. Instead of settling things, as you can imagine, such acts of retribution often escalated and continued problems between persons in the society instead of ending them.
Hammurabi's code attempted to come up with a system that administered a punishment that fit the crime so to speak. It's where the old adage, "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth" came from. Hammurabi thought that was better than "an eye, a hand, a left ear, part of the scalp, and the left leg below the knee for an eye." The thinking was to devise a system that would hopefully end problems between persons by settling the score evenly - that way the offending party didn't feel like they had grounds for pursuing revenge in retaliation for the retribution, and the party offended didn't feel like the offending party got off too lightly.
It was the first recorded legal system in the history of civilization, and came from the "Land Between Two Rivers."

Can members of congress retire on full pay after serving one term?

U.S. Federal law prevents any member of Congress from receiving a starting retirement annuity of more than 80% of his or her final salary. That alone makes clear that no member of Congress is able to collect 100% of their salary if they do not serve more than one termregardless of whythey did not serve more than one term. A retired member of Congress can never collect more than 80% of their final salary prior to retiring -- ever.

How to record from History.com?

Downloadhelper isn't working cause History is probably protecting their content. Your approach with a screen recording software was already a good way to go. If you want to have better results I can recommend you the software Audials Moviebox. I am using that one for recording from netflix so it should work for History too. See the link to your topic: http://audials.com/en/how_to_record_stream_capture_music_videos_movies_from/history.html

George Washington you would think however
The United States declared its independence in 1776, yet Washington did not take office until April 30, 1789.
Named a delegate to the Continental Congress in 1779, Hanson served in that body from 1780 to 1782, including a term as the president of Congress from 1781 to 1782, the Continental Congress became the "Congress of the Confederation" or the "United States in Congress Assembled." Hanson was the first president of that body, but not of the United States.

Microsoft Office product key help!

Translation:

Hey guys. I was wondering if someone would be kind enough to STEAL a product key for word '07 and send to me....blah blah blah....I'd rather STEAL software and commit a federal CRIME than spend the money on it because I have better things to spend $120 on so I'll turn to a life of CRIME....

PLEASE STOP ASKING PEOPLE TO HELP YOU COMMIT A CRIME.

Stealing software is a federal offense. And you asked, in a PUBLIC forum, for someone to help you commit a CRIME. Your IP address has been recorded (note: traceable to the very computer you used when you committed this crime) and you have been reported to the authorities.

Next time, before committing the crime of THEFT (or any other crime for that matter), think about what you are doing before you ask others to help you commit a crime.
