Question about Garmin StreetPilot 2620 GPS Receiver
I've done resets, run the diagnostic routine, everything seems normal. But of course it can't reconcile satellites with wrong date. Time for the dumpster?
Probably not. Time to read the manual to learn how to set the time. You may let it synchronize with the GPS signals, or set the Time manually.

Just in case you are new to Sat-navs; are you trying for satellites out of doors and away from tall buildings? Turn it off, then on again as says this procedure:
1. Go outdoors to an open area with a clear view of the sky. Stay away from tall buildings and trees.
2. Flip up the Garmin GPS antenna (on the back of the device) so that it's parallel to the ground.
3. Press and hold the "Power" button on top of your Garmin GPS device to turn the unit on. If your unit is trying to acquire satellite signal for the first time, it may take 3 to 5 minutes for the connection
NOTE: Make sure you have a clear view of thre sky (not indoors or outside but near a large building.
Several factors affect the speed at which your Garmin GPS device acquires satellite. The more frequently you use your GPS, the less time it takes for it to gather the data it needs to acquire satellite signals. Using your GPS indoors, traveling more than 500 miles without the GPS tracking your travel, and the first GPS use after a software update are all factors that can increase the time the unit needs to locate satellite signals.
Another thing people can miss/forget, is the time/date set correctly? Also, if it hasn't been used for a while it can "forget" where they are, and so takes longer to re-acquire them. For this, I suggtes check in the Nuvi 310 OwnersManual (pdf format).
Other owners experimented the same problem about acquiring satellite signal even when it's a clear sunny day. After 30 mintues, it was still searching...
The unit appeared to have "stuck" in this acquiring mode. The following worked for they:
1. open the GPS antenna
2. press the bottom left screen while holding the power button to turn the unit on
3. enter maintenace mode
4. select diagnostics
5. clear error report, do NOT clear any user data
6. restart unit the usual way
In oter cases (GPS 350) was able to acquire satellite signal in less than 1 minute after the above steps were taken.
Hope this helps.

Edge 205 or 305 often crash, then impossible to power on again.
Here is the way to reset the Garmin edge :
Soft reset : hold mode and lap/reset buttons for 10 seconds
Hard reset : device should be powered down, hold start and mode buttons for 3 seconds then pulse press the lap/reset button.
After soft reset, you need to hold start button for up to 10 secs before it starts.
After hard reset, you will loose all your data, including profiles
Hard reset is not very easy, so follow carefully instructions above.
Now simple advice, did you check in your parameters that the GPS transceiver is turned on ?
There is a mode with GPS off, don't ask why ...
Refer to your manual to find the menu.
