Question about Microwave Ovens

Standard bank Roslyn

The Roslyn standard bank manager did not take me seriously with what we were experiencing. The building is dilapidated and the is no customer service at all. You have to ask other customers about where to get assistance. The employees seams not happy about the environment their are working in The conditioning when the bank is full are not working, I have ask myself why standard bank don't close this branch and build a suitable building that can accommodate every one including people with disability. I was with my father who uses caches to walk and I decided to go inside and request a wheel chairs only to be told that it is not provided by the bank. I have to drive to Ga-Rankuwa CBD to another standard branch only to find the very same situation. I was then referred to the centre management for assistance and I was told to ask security office within the centre if they have one. Luckily I was given an old broken wheel chair to use, I did not have any choice but to us it.it is about time standard bank management wake up and smell the coffee because they are losing more clients because of poor customer service, to make the matters worse last year November my house was damage by hail storm and I put a claim through standard bank for their assistance ,they did sent some assessor to my house and I got a replay this year at the end of January only to be told that my roof was licking because the hail broke the cement on the edges on the roofing tiles and I am liable to fix it myself, In another words my claim was rejected because some manager said to me I did not maintain my roof.my house is only four years old and roof is still new. I am paying an expensive insurance through standard bank only to be told that I don't have a claim and what about the money that I am paying every month, to tell you the truth standard bank services sucks that is why I closed my cheque account with them and went to another institution. I hate that bank big time the only thing that is holding me it is because that I am paying my car and house through them. I think I should look for alternative bank maybe I won't be frustrated like this .Benedict kola. contact details 0736552251

SOURCE: Microwave works but won't heat

The most common causes for a lack of heating are a bad door switch, a loose connection on the magnetron, a bad magnetron, bad connection on the control circuit board, a bad relay on the board, bad high voltage diode, or bad high voltage transformer. GE microwaves come with a mini service manual inside, which is very helpful. Since it's only 2 years old, the magnetron would still be covered under warranty, but you would have to pay labor and service call charges. You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your model number here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383 If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info (as well as a text file which helps in diagnosing and repairing door switch problems) at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk Otherwise, if you pull it from the wall yourself and take it in for repair, you can save about $50 or so. It is a 2-person job since it's heavy and awkward, and it helps if you have the original installation instructions. Feel free to follow up here if you need more help. We appreciate your thoughtful rating of our reply.

SOURCE: My Sharp problem is not with the product itself

Unfortunately, its not just Sharp. Many small appliance manufacturers are designing their products with an obsolete date as early as the warranty runs out. I see this all the time....even on very expensive items. For many mfgs, its cheaper to keep the manufacturing lines churning than to build an appliance to last....say 10 years. I do hope your experience with the new microwave is much better...and longer lasting. M

SOURCE: My father had an accident last week with his

If it is still under warrenty, do not have anyone touch it as it will then be nul and void. There will be 2 problem now with the microwave. The initial bang is one and the door comming off is the second. Making a long story short, replacing the microwave would be the best bet as the spares and labour and down time will not be viable. So try for that warrenty.

SOURCE: I sent a delux stainless

hi, where did you buy this product from, this is a help site where people who have problems with equipment they have bought want help, we dont actually sell anything we have no catalogue or shop.

the way this site works is you post your problem in the forum for the experts to see and then one of them will pick your problem and offer you some help and guidance on solving your problem.

the experts dont work for the site we just sign into the site to offer our advice and guidance, we dont actually sell anything.

so the only help this site can off you is if you tell us the company you brought this product from then we can pass on a complaint saying that you have spoken to us and you are not happy with the product and would like a replacement or refund. But without you telling us the company involved we cant do anything.

If the company passed you onto this site to make a complaint then i need to warn you that it sounds like they are trying to fob you off and pass you onto someone else who cant really do anything for you,

say your car broke down and you didnt know the cause i could then help you find the cause and tell you what you need to do to solve your problem, or if your washing machine has an error code then i can help you find and solve the problem.

But as for getting a refund this is not possible from this site as we do not sell or endorse any products we only offer help and advice to people who have a technical or fault problem with a product and as you want a refund then all you have to do is contact the company that sold you the product.

if you would like me to contact the company for you and pass a complaint on then your going to need to give me the companies name and details and also your details so as they can contact you to resolve any problem you have

im sorry i cant give you a refund but if you look at our site we dont actually sell anything we only help you solve any problems you may have with a product, now i know you have a problem with a product but we cant offer you any refund as we never sold you anything and we never sell anybody anything, so i that respect i cant help you

but if the company told you to contact us for a refund then this is something different and something we could take up as this is something they shouldnt do and they would be breaking the law by passing this site off as the site that sold you something.

please let me know what you would like me to do

Is the information regarding the danger of foreign food as in "eye opener regarding food from other countries" true?

Most countries have a health and safety policy when it comes to food. These standards are vigorously met, or the product is destroyed or declared un-fit for human consumption.
If you buy food products from shops and other places they have to meet the standards. Products sold off a van or online might break these laws. The import of such food (not fit for human consumption) is monitored by trading standards and disposed of.
If you suspect that something you have purchased is not up to standard you should report it to your local trading standards or food and safety body.
What you buy in a Supermarket is generally above standard at least in the developed countries. In fact much edible food is thrown away just because it is bruised or damaged, than dangerous to eat.
Apart from a few stories were someone has done something dodgy, I think most of these stories are simply scare stories.

Do I check WB27X1160 hi-voltage diode as I would a standard diode?

Using a digital meter does not have enough forward bias to test the high voltage diode, in most cases it will short or crack making it easy for the meter to check.

Microwave will not heat

HI. Your symptoms are a strong indication of Magnetron failure. This is the principal heating device, that is used to produce microwaves that , essentially, excite the water molecules in the food, thus, producing the heating effect. When this device fails, generally, the unit will run, but not heat. This device is very fragile, and can injure you if you are not qualified to handle this type of component. There is a High Voltage Capacitor, that is used to help provide the necessary current for optimal Magnetron operation. This capacitor must be discharged correctly. If not, you could risk serious injury, during the repair, if it is accidental touched.

The Magnetron is linked to a cut-off fuse. If the magnetron becomes unstable, this fuse will shut the device down. It is standard procedure to have this fuse test for continuity. If the fuse has blown, this will be the culprit. Replace the fuse. Now, if the fuse continues to show continuity, this will confirm that the Magnetron has failed. I would advise to inspect the Capacitor, and HV diode for visible burn marks, or swollen top(Cap).

Access can be ac hived to these parts by removing the outside cabinet screws. Once the screws are removed, the cover can be removed, as well. Once the cover is removed, the internal components will be exposed for testing, and visual inspections.

WARNING: IF YOU ARE NOT A QUALIFIED SERVICE TECH, THIS WILL NOT BE A NOVICE DO IT YOURSELF JOB. MICROWAVES ARE VERY DANGEROUS, AND CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY. I RECOMMEND TO CALL FOR SERVICE, IF YOU ARE UNCOMFORTABLE WITH HANDLING THE CAPACITOR, OR MAGNETRON.

Sharp microwave quit working

Obviously there was a serious short circuit in this unit which is not normally serviceable by anyone but a factory technician. Since this would not be cost effective, I suggest you replace the oven. New ovens are quite reasonable and have many great features.

The usual cause is the tray motor assembly, or the power supply that feeds it. These parts are available from the parts rep for Panasonic. Contact Panasonic for details.

There are serious safety issues when servicing microwave ovens. I suggest to have the oven professionaly serviced by an experienced service tech for these products.
