Try removing the battery and restart. Could be a bad memory module, fan not working, CPU going bad, graphics chip overheated and going bad. I assume it is out of warranty so you might have to take it to a repair shop.

SOURCE: bios reset

As another option you could try resetting the jumper. Some boards save the password regardless unless the reset the BIOS by using the resetting jumper. Refer to the motherboard's manual for further information on how to do this.

SOURCE: OVERCLOCKING

Hi, On other motherboard models of Asus, similar problem was corrected by: 1. Updating the BIOS; 2. Actually overclocking the FSB to slightly higher than default (say 170 or 175 from 166, 140 to 150 from 133); 3. Slightly increasing the default processor voltage supply by increments of 0.05; 4. Replacing the 3.0 volts Lithium battery; 5. Replacing the memory to next higher speed; Never had problems like this with MSI, ECS or Intel boards. Hope this be of some idea/help. Post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards.

SOURCE: I have a problem with my Acer Aspire 3100 Laptop.

what does it say besides the f1 and f2...there is soemthing stopping the computer from booting and it should say something like...cmos reset or the date and time are not set or keyboard error or something to that effect. try dusting out the laptop with a low psi air compressor or can of air and see if that helps..

How to reformat acer aspire one netbook

The most hassle-free way to format your Acer Aspire One is through the built-in eRecovery software. This application exists within a hidden partition on your computer's hard drive along with a pristine copy of Windows. When you invoke this program, it will clear most of your hard drive and install a fresh copy of Windows to it. You can effectively reset your computer to the condition it was in when you first turned it on.

1. Connect the Aspire One's power adapter to the computer, and plug it into the wall.

2. Turn the computer off by clicking "Start" and then "Shut down."

3. Press the Power button. After 20 seconds, press and hold the "Alt" key and then tap "F10" repeatedly as your computer boots up.

4. Release the "Alt" key when the "Starting Acer eRecovery" screen appears.

5. Press the "1" key to select the "Restore system to factory default" option.

6. Enter your eRecovery password in the space provided, and press "Enter."

7. Read the Acer eRecovery terms and conditions, and then click the "Yes" button to signify that you understand and agree.

8. Click "Next" to initiate the formatting process.

9. Follow the step-by-step setup process for Windows that begins after the unit restarts.

I hope you find it very helpful.

Turn my acer aspire 3680 2022 on and get a screen that said we apologize for the inconvenience but windows did not start successfully. a recent hardware or solfware change might have caused this.then it...

It appears that the issue might be with some hardware malfunctions. It may happen due to hardware failure, BIOS mismatch or due to
static charge. Let us try the basic troubleshooting. Turn Off the
Computer, remove all the devices attached to the computer, the power
cable and battrey, now holdon the power button for 15 secs (make sure
adpater and battery are uplugged) it will drain out all the static
charge. Now, restart the computer and keep on tapping F2, you will enter
to BIOS setup utility, press F9 (click "Yes", if you are prompted) and
then press F10 (Click "Yes", if you are prompted), it will restart the
computer. If still it is not booting to normal mode, then we have to
perform a full system recovery & it is a distructive process as you will
loose all the datas on the computer. To do so, Turn Off the computer,
now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key &
keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Alt+f10, it will open the recovery
console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction.
NOTE: This will erase all the datas on the computer
