SOURCE: no lighting

Your unit has lighting, it's just that it's set so low that you can barely see it (or not at all in bright sunlight). If it wasn't working at all then you wouldn't be able to see anything.
When the unit is on, press the power/lighting button (the red one) briefly and repeat. You will see it cycle through the highest, lowest, and user pre-sets. Stop on any of those and use the arrow up/down key to choose your own level. Press enter when finished. You can do this even when the unit appears black in bright sunlight.

SOURCE: the "hand" run by battery

You have to take it all apart and clean the gears and shaft with keroseen on a rag. Use steel wool to take the rust off the shafts and gears and see if the motor will spin without the gears attached to it. If it does not that has to be taken apart and cleaned. When putting it all together use a light grease or vasoline and put a little on the gears and shafts. Put a little on the motor shaft but make sure you do not get it on the comutator where the brushes ride on the motor.

Why no monitor display?

Battery or no battery, there should be a display. Try another known working monitor to see if that one works to localize the problem.

If another good monitor does not work, then maybe it is the video card or internal video chip. Check for bad or bulging capacitors.

My camera don't want to work

I checked and found another post, bc my camera was doing the same thing after 3 months of having it. Take a cotton swab to the battery connections. I did this and my camera worked, I wish I would have known this a year ago.

My response 75 since having ablip in power was

We found the problem was with the power. In our case, plugging the adaptor into the power outlet directly, bypassing an extension and checking the outlet was working with a lamp. The error lights you describe were the exact same that we were getting, caused by low battery levels.

Hope that helps someone.

No display lights on bose lifestyle 8 home theatre. System works though.

Displays die quite often on receivers just one of those things that happens.

Bose is pretty good about repair cost and timely in their turnaround. Here is a link to the support page

I would guess a replacement display would run about $150 installed plus you will have to ship your unit to them.

They like to do "flat rate" service plans which is one of those 50/50 deals most of the time you are better off just paying for the repair versus dealing with a service contract but you will have to find out whats available for your model.

Hope that helps

OMRON Model Hem-711's display is messed up. Over one-half the top of the numbers are not showing. Is there a fix for this, or should I scrap it. I assume it an eternal problem in the window (Liquid...

Same problem on my Omron HEM-711. Manufactured in 2003, past the 5-yr warranty. Cust Suppt told me to replace unit. I opened the unit up and looked inside. Two very tight phillips screws, one on back panel, other in battery compartment. Case pries apart. LCD display looked intact, ribbon was undamaged. Unit appeared to work properly, just did not display correct reading, some of the liquid crystals in a few of the digits were not activating. I installed batteries with case still open, turned power on while pressing ribbon along edge of circuit board. Ribbon is manufactured with glue to circuit board, some of the leads come loose after several years due to manufacturing defect. In my case, pressing towards the bottom side corrected problem. You can see when it's working properly because all the display crystals light up simultaneously when unit is first powered up. I clamped down ribbon with two small paper clips insulated with a few bits of paper, works fine now, saved eighty bucks.

After changing the battery nothing can be changed, no function possible and"open" remains written on the display, the type of the battery is clt 1616

The battery is CTL 1616 and I had the same occurance when I opened up my model Casio model 3043. I needed to use the battery to test my model 2767 and find out if a new battery would bring it back to life (yes, it still lives). After replacing the battey back into my 3043, I jumped the (ac) to (-) and at first the watch would indicate all was well but then it would revert back to "open". I tried over and over to try and get the "open" display to clear but I was not successful. I then thought to go ahead and replace the back on the case to see if the three contact springs would change the display and sure enough, "open" no longer was in the display. The watch works perfectly as before. As for the 2767, as soon as I jumped the (ac) to (-) the "open" display went away. There is only one spring contact to the back case on the 2767 model. Unfortunately I do have an extra spring that fell out when I opened it up and I have no clue as to where it goes. I have not found anyone who can help me on the location for the shorter spring. Any advice would be most helpful.

Garmin 1412, wont run on battery power, DC only. Need info on maybe a full reset whether to return as defective

I found there are select 120v AC adapters that will work on Magellan GPS. When a working 120v or 12v adapter to mini USB adapter is plugged into the unit, the battery bars will be 'scrolling' and therefore charging.

When your adapter, or even USB cable from your computer, is plugged into the GPS unit, and the battery goes to FULL, it is NOT CHARGING. The battery bars must be SCROLLING for the unit to charge. In this case, get a different adapter until it works.

Resetting the code

The 7550 has a battery backup (little door on bottom of machine - 2 AA batteries). Remove batteries for a couple of days and the code should disappear. Removing the batteries WILL NOT effect the main memory of the machine - they are just for the backup of any personally designed stitches and memory combinations - not the hard memory of the machine. Periodically these batteries will need to be changed - a message will pop up on the screen to let you know.

Hope this helps (ex-Pfaff employee - GREAT MACHINE!)

DC400 not powering on

It could very well be a problem with a blown fuse/capacitor within the power supply, since these things are smaller it would be a good idea to take it to a local tech to have it opened up and checked out.

Good luck!

I have the same problem. I've found that the Innopocket magnum case will hold the cover in place and pretty much stop it doing this. Unfortunately, the case won't fit if you have an extended battery. I've tried taping down the cover with some success, but the hard case worked better.
