Problem for Sony DVD Players

Generic problem for all Sony DVD Players

Direct TV DVD player codes not working

I have a Hitachi TV and a Sony DVD player, and recently I switched to Direct TV. Direct TV has you do this thing to set up the DVD player to work with Direct TV where you switch the video input to AV1, press Mute+Select, put in multiple codes until one works, then press power. But none of the codes are working. Does anyone know how to set up a DVD player on Direct TV?
